Wichita State USED to have a football team, but dropped it due to lack of finances and limited success.

As a Wichita State Alum, I would like to see them have a football team, but its never going to happen. The administration, past and present, feels that since the plane crash that killed 31 members of the team on October 2, 1970 the best way to honor the team is to have a memorial and not play football. I completely disagree with that. I think by not playing anymore they are disregarding the team and not honoring them. I'm also not entirley sure that without a huge donation to the sports program that they would have the funds to start up a football team. For the past 30 years they've been sinking every available dollar into baseball and I don't think any of the decision makers want to change that.

GO SHOCKERS!!!!!!!
