I think they are cool and just bought a pair of fake black rimmed glasses - is that sad if i dont actually need them. Do you like your glasses or hate them. Would you ditch em for contact lenses?Why?

I wear glasses (since I was about 8/9) and contacts. I mostly wear my contacts when I'm going out (work etc.) because my glasses make me look older (e.g. I get asked for ID whenever I try to buy booze when I don't have my glasses on). I prefer to be youthful.
Also my eyes are my best feature (I've been told, they're green-green) and I find they are opened up significantly when I don't have my glasses on (I'm short sighted so the lenses make my eyes look slightly smaller, which I hate).
The glasses I own are both very thin, bronze frames. They barely show up against my skin tone really (not that I'm tanned but still...). I used to own some thin black ones. I like my glasses and wear them all the time at home but I hate wearing them out now (only do when I'm too lazy to stick my fingers in my eyes or I'm not working for a while, I have monthly contacts and don't like to waste them if I'm not going anywhere)
I recently had an eye infection and couldn't wear my contacts to work and was told I looked more intellectual in my specs. But it didn't change my view. I think I look, older, geekier and frumpier in my specs.
I'd love laser surgery but I'm not brave enough as I don't know anyone who can recommend a good doctor for the procedure and until then I'll stick with contacts.

I've had glasses for like the past 3 years, but about 6 months ago I got contacts. They dont take that long to put on for me, I Love them, but i see that glasses are very trendy nowadays, especially thick framed glasses from Chanel &whatnot. The glasses I have are just rectangular & metal, nothing special, actually theyre pretty hideous. I would want a new pair of glasses so i could wear them some days when I dont wanna put on my contacts or if i have some eye infection or something. Theyre actually very cute, they complement my face & theyre very fashionable; it adds a little something to peoples faces. I dont wanna dish out a lot of money to get prescription glasses though, so maybe ill buy fake black rimmed glasses too & wear them along with my contacts, lol just if I wanna wear glasses one day. ha.

No it's not sad.
A lot of people buy glasses with plain lenses and wear them because they make them look good. Glasses are very fashionable providing you choose the right styles. With the prices of glasses falling on the Internet people are buying several different pairs. I have three pairs myself.

I have had to wear glasses over a year now. I hate to wear them, im far more pretty with them off. However when i purchased them i bought a designer pair, to make sure i would wear them and not put them down.
I have thought about contact lenses, but a little too shy to book the consultation. I will do it oneday.

Its funny, when I was little (5/6) I looked at my sisters and my parents who wore glasses and I cried because I wanted them.
Now, my eyesight is worse and I use glasses to watch the tele as its more comfortable.
Now, at 14. I don't want glasses, I hate them!
I love sunglasses but glasses, arghhh...
Anyway, I tried coloured contact lenses and although they were cool were very expensive and time consuming. I had to wake up earlier to put them in, and everything.
Eye surgery is another alternative and I suppose less expensive in the long run!

I have glasses but i really don't like them and don't think i suit them. I wear contact lenses at work, cos I feel much more confident in them.
Currently saving the pennies for laser eye surgery!

Funny, I have black rimmed glasses and I HAVE to wear them. I hate prescription glasses, so I just recently got contacts and I love them. I've been a glasses wearer for 10+ years and it's nice to finally be able to see without them. Funny that other people want to wear them even if they don't have to. But we all do such things. =)

I wear glasses and I love them. I got two pairs and they are super cute. I do use contacts when I go out and stuff like that though

i need my glasses for distances and i think they're a pain. If i go out without them i can't see anything but if i wear them i feel underdressed. I didn't like contacts so i'm stuck with them. I'm seriously considering laser treatment so when i wake up in the night i can see what time it is clearly. It'd be lovely to see without wearing them or squinting (wrinkles!!!)
My fella thinks i look sexy in them - maybe he needs glasses lol:)

ive wore glasses from the age of four im now 35 ive got used to them went for a job in the fire service wore contact lenses the optasion said it would be fine only to discover that they were not aloud i felt like a pratt and 150 pounds out of pockect what a bummer
