I was driving down the street and my truck wasnt at the height level that i wanted it, so i adjust it. Then i see a Police car tailing after me then i get cited. So i would like to know how much this is going to cost me. Its not fair because the cop was saying they are hydraulics which they are not. (He also said my vehicle was in motion, and i know it wasnt rolling)

I was in heavy traffic when this happened and i wasnt moving so decided to adjust my height. The cop saw me from a distance and decided "hey im going to pull him over" so he did and this is where im at now.

Luckily he didnt give me a "fix it" for the suspension but he did add a correctable one for my tailight. (still working but just a little broken from the red plastic.) so basically i received 2 citations.

Well, if the car was "tailing you", you must have been driving, which would mean the care was in motion. So I don't know what you are talking about. Go to court if you want to fight the ticket but it sounds like you might be better off to just make your vehicle conform to safety laws.

How can you say you were driving down the street, but not in motion? In the state where I live, you have an unsafe vehicle if the bumper height deviates 3" from factory height. I'm assuming, since your truck is slammed that you fall into that category. The ticket will probably be about $150-$175 including court costs...unless you have prior offenses.

You're sure that's not a "fix-it" ticket? (Did it have a "correctable" checkmark?) If so, it's a $10 or $15 ticket if you just get it fixed.

Basically, you have to prove that it is NOT unsafe to adjust vehicle height while on the street. He probably thought you're driving one of those "low-rider" rock the truck trick rides, and those aren't allowed on the road in general.

Study the exact wording of the citation. They are required to put in the Vehicle Code section on the ticket. Study it by going to CA's DMV website, and look up that section.
