The main and major airport that all of the airlines use is LAS/McCarren International. That is your best bet.

Wow, a lot of misinformation here.
McCarran International Airport is the only commercial airport in the area.
It is not in the city limits of Las Vegas, (neither is Strip for that matter)
The Rio is not on the Strip. If it was, it wouldn't be the northern part of the Strip either. It's on Flamingo which is considered "Central" North would be Saraha, South is Tropicana to Russel
If you take a cab, don't let him take the tunnel. It is a huge long cut. Take Paradise to Flamingo, then head west. If he does threaten to call the taxi authority when you get there. He won't want to bother and you'll get a free trip. If you're not the confortational type, tell the bellman when you get to the hotel.
Enjoy your trip.

You can find out more about McCarran International, the only commercial airport in Las Vegas, at their website - http://www.mccarran.com. There are several options for getting to The Rio, which is not, as indicated in one of the other answers, on the north end of The Strip. It is actually adjacent to the center portion of The Strip on Flamingo Road, just west of Bellagio. It's about 5 miles from McCarran, which is located on the south end of The Strip very close to MGM Grand so a cab will cost you about $15 with tip depending on traffic. Or you can take a shuttle bus such as Bell Trans, which cost about $5-6 per person. You can get more information about all of this on the McCarran site in the section marked Ground Transportation. Have fun!

There's only one commercial airport (McCarran International Airport (LAS)) that serves all of Las Vegas. It's actually located within the city limit so it's only a few miles to all the hotels in town.
You must be from NY, Washington, Chicago or LA to think a city would have more than one commercial airport.
