No. Conservatives mistakenly believe that Capitalism is a form of government.
The only pay the word "Democracy" lip service. They have supported dismantling our government for over 20 years.

Absolutely! The more control people have over their own lives the more powerful they are. In a country where most everything is controlled by a central government, the people have no real power. This results it the notorious "Banana Republics" we see in the world. Since the central government controls most everything, all that is necessary is to give the poor people of the country some goodies around election time.
Compare that to The United States of America. Most power is in the hands of the States and the people. Therefore, we can hire and fire leaders as we wish. We are not dependent on any particular person or party to take care of us. That is why socialists hate capitalism. They draw their power from the dependency of the people.

Closed mindedness. Conservatives are more religious and come from a rural enviornment, thereby, less socially stree-smart. Democracy functions best in a socialist state.

That's what I have been wondering! The power of the people cannot exist where money rules because our government officials obviously care much more about their own profits than providing for the people. But when I say that, they call me a "commie".... go figure!!!

Sounds like you need to stop listening to your lieberal leaders and start reading (not the net) on your own to make your own mind up about things. Your leaders have lead you astray.

They think the two are inseparable, but China is proving them wrong. You can have one without the other.

No, I don't believe anyone does.
But many would say that these respective economic and political systems work in tandem, and are necessary to one another.
