I have always lived in the NY metro area. I have heard Imus since he first came on the air at the now defunct WNBC. He has very little room to criticize others after the life he has led. And as far as making fun of other people's appearance, well, I suppose mirrors are in short supply at the Imus ranch.

I've been wondering that same thing since this whole Rutgers debacle started. It's strange how people can get so up in arms when it comes to race, but completely dismiss hateful comments about fat people.

The head coach C. Vivian Stringer is quoted in a msnbc.com article as saying it was not about the players “as black or nappy-headed. It’s about us as a people. When there is not equality for all, or when there has been denied equality for one, there has been denied equality for all.”

Why should that only apply to race? Equality for all is for ALL, which should include fat people. All of these people rushed to the Rutgers' Team's defense, but in the years past that Imus has been making horribly hateful comments about fat people, I've never heard one person or group stand up for the rights of fat people.

Equality for all means fat people should get an apology from Imus as well--actually they should get numerous apologies!
