The child would DEFINITELY get teased.

Yes it is unusual, but unusual names are becoming much more popular, same as more common names that are being spelled differently. I am assuming that there is a symbolic reason behind your wanting to name a child Friday. I named my child after my grandmother (Arizona was her name, and I made it her middle name), and I think it's great when people give their child names that mean something to the parent and want to pass it onto their child. Some people choose names for this reason, and others choose names because they just like the way they sound. And both are okay.

If you are truly comfortable calling a child Friday, then go for it. I think it's great. My name is Destiny, and when I was growing up it wasn't NEARLY as popular as it is now. And hey, who wants to be another Jessica or Heather, or John? Not me. Good luck. I am sure you will make the right decision.

Its nice, and unique. The two things I love about names. I also like the name Tuesday. I do not think she would get teased because it is a beautiful name. It is unusual but in a good way. Friday just has a ring to it, you know?

As a name it is a little unusual but it is a common word that is used all the time which would makes it a bad name for a person. Maybe good for a gerbil.

No not at all. There are many children named after the days of the week -its very hip without being bizzare. The only thing is I would think Friday was a boy's name. Congrads!

Everyone would be using him as a Man Friday & he could be the butt of jokes.Give him any nice name (millions available) but not one which will cause him problems - remember the poor chap would in any case be facing a lot of hassles in life like everyone else & the least u can do is to prevent him from living with a name like Friday!

I knew a girl in school named Thursday, and yes, it was wierd. It's also a movie. A funny one, yes, but it does contain a lot of drug use and people are going to think of the movie with that name.

Also, if it was your name, whenever people talk about Friday the day, you will think you hear your name all the time. I think it would be confusing.

No! It's unique. I love it. I haven't met anyone named Friday. It reminds me of Wednesday, on the Addams Family.
Yes, yes, I once read a book where the character's name was Friday..

But I do think you should name your child Friday if you want to. It's your choice.

Personally I wouldn't use it. It is quite unusual but it could be much worse. I do like Tuesday as a name for a girl.
