It means dry clothes. Don't worry, the machine will cope with the load, regardless of how big it looks.

In the washers that measure the load by weight, it's based on dry clothes. Here in the USA, they measure the cubic foot space of the the tub. But the best way to know how much will fit in your washer is to put clothes in it, one piece at a time. Don't pack them down, just drop or place them loosely. When the washer is full of dry clothes, take them back out and put them in a laundry basket. Mark where the top of the clothes are. Now you have a big ole measuring "cup" for your laundry.

Definitely dry clothes! No matter what, remember the agitator has to move freely, if the machine is overloaded, the agitator won't work properly, the clothes will not get clean and the machine will break down.

5 kg is 11 lbs. That is not many clothes. (dry weight) The clothes you are currently wearing weigh about 3 to 5 lbs.

Dry clothes. It will shink down after the load is wet.

You need to provide more information, it depends on the brand & model of your machine.

For example a wonderclean washing maching has an 11lb capacity for wet laundry, 5lb capacity for dry laundry.

It completely depends on your machine itself.
