Guppies do not lay eggs. They have live births. To answer your question, no a male guppy can not turn into a female. Do you have snails or any other inhabitants in your tank?

First off - guppies don't lay eggs - they are live bearers. Second of all fish have been known to change sex- extremely rare and limited to a few species but in some closed environments - like a pond - if all fish are one sex how would they reproduce.
