We're all different Rose B. I rarely got the hot flashes, but I had night sweats so bad, I would have to change my night clothes. The discharge you're talking about is more like a period. My menopause was pretty tame compared to other women I know but I would have a period three or four times a month. It would last a day, maybe two, stop for a few days then return. Having a period or 'discharge' is very normal. Go see your obgyn or family doc for a good check up, tell the doc everything your experiencing. You don't say how old you are or how long you've been experiencing these things. If you are just beginning, your doc can keep a eye on you, monitor the changes and even prescribe something to help you through this. I hope this helps, good luck.

That all comes with the territory my dear.
Sometimes the Hot Flashes are killer! You feel cold at night too right after the hot flashes becuz your body is cooling down from all of the sweat.
You may have spotting at first but it will go away soon enough as well as your periods.
Menopause doesn't just consist of hot flashes either. Add to it, fatigue, sleepless nights, mood swings, dizziness, dry skin and anxiety.....IT SUX!
I know becuz I too am going trough it. But I am going through and have been going through early menopause for over a year. It can last any where from 1 year to 5 years. It's different for every woman.
So, welcome & good luck my dear!

The hormonal changes affect the bodies thermostat so it's normal and common to feel suddenly hot and then suddenly very cold. Bleeding may start for a couple of hours as if you were menstruating but very much less and periods will become irregular and eventually stop. The vagina dries out at this time and its walls thin so can become irritating.
