LOL! Yes, this is a frequent silly remark from the left. They act as if parents are capable of ordering their offspring into battle.

The U.S. Armed Forces is an all-voulenteer force comprised of adults aged 18 and over.

Upon entry into the Armed Forces, there is no guarentee one will complete the required training. Upon completion of such training, there is no guarentee one will be send to a particular theater of war.

So, next time you hear someone say "Why don't they send their kid to Iraq" you will know you are dealing someone who lives in a fantasy world.

His point is that Senator John McCain's son recently joined the Marines and could very well end up in Iraq. McCain never sent him (we have an all volunteer military) but it does show that his son has "true grit".
I am not a big McCain fan, but who can doubt that he is more of a man than all the British soldiers who danced like trained bears 5 minutes after being captured by the Iranian punks. It took over 5 years to break this guy. Say what you will, McCain is a real man and military hero.

From this morning's Time.com:

"This September, Senator John McCain's youngest son, Jimmy, 18, will report to a U.S. Marine Corps depot near Camp Pendleton in San Diego. After three months of boot camp and a month of specialized training, he will be ready to deploy. Depending on the unit he joins, he could be in Iraq as early as this time next year, and his chances of seeing combat at some point are high. Of the 178,000 active-duty Marines in the world, some 80,000 have seen a tour in Iraq or Afghanistan, and 25,000 are now bearing the brunt of some of the worst fighting in Iraq. About 6,000 Marines have been wounded there, and about 650 have been killed. "I'm obviously very proud of my son," says the elder McCain, "but also understandably a little nervous.""

It just never ceases to amaze me how the libs on here are so incredibly dense that they didn't get it. Of course those who do stay informed know that John Mccain has a son in the Military Academy and another already serving in Iraq.

Insted they'll make their usual uninformed snotty remarks about the President and anyone who believes in him because they are just too stupid to get a clue.

There are politicians who have their sons/daughters in the war zone and the last time I checked McCain as a US Senator does not have the power to individually send anyone to any base of operation.

Unless certain democrats get their way, no parent can "send" his/her son/daughter to Iraq (at least as part of the military). Fine young men and women VOLUNTEER to join the military knowing full well the risks. Just be grateful they do so you can keep expressing you opinion in public.

We preach everyone is created equal with certain rights and yet we now want parents to force their sons or daughters to fight in the army. Funny how liberals love to ignore that little thing called the Constitution, the law, and God.

Enough with the why doesn't (blank) said (blank) to fight in Iraq. Not everyone who supports the war has to send a family member to Iraq to prove they support the war. Its liberal idiocy.

Fathers don't send their sons.
The sons choose to go and 100's of 1,000's have and will go by their own accord.
Honor and praise them as the brave patriots they are
Find something else to hate America and the right over
