I actually have worked milking cows, and we would work 7-8 hrs milking, after the cows are milked, they are given an injection to help the cows produce milk, then they wait 4-5 hrs, and then they are milked again. At least that is the way the dairy barn that I work for did it. And yes the milk went to a place to be processed.

Cows are usually milked in early morning and later that night so I would guess about 8 hours between

usually every 12 hours like my neighbors milk at 4:00am and 4:00pm
