Because instead of finishing the job and shoring up the government and security of afghanistan we shifted our money, and resources to the sensless war in Iraq. So now we have two failed states. And as you can see by the enclosed report the war in terror is not that "successful"
Also the MSNBC talks about 300 percent more attacks

The Taliban is a cancer. Aggressive cancers have a nasty way of popping up just when you think you've beat them with radiation, chemo and prayer.
No one person is responsible for fighting the war on terror, and I get sad when I see the burden being placed completely on his shoulders.
I think each of us has a responsibility to make the world a better place to live through our actions and our prayers.

The Afghanistan War is a largely overlooked, underfunded and undersupplied. Had we not started the Iraq Occupation when we did, we would have most of the leaders of the Taliban and Bin Ladin captured or dead.

Because the Taliban is operating out of Pakistan's tribal area and we cannot touch them without causing a big mess with the international community and Pakistan itself.

The Taliban isn't growing. It's clinging on to power in a few regions of Afghanistan, but it's not growing. For every town they capture NATO captures three.
