ok. I have a clown pleco, a spotted raphael catfish, and 2 comets.

I know these fish get huge, so I will be taking them back at around 5-6 inches ( except for the clown pleco, because that's his adult size ) .... the temp. of the tank is at 72. ( room temp. )

can a rosy barb, live with the fish I mentioned?

thanks

Yes they can live together. I would watch the barb doesn't nip the fins of your gold fish however.

Probably, but to keep all the fish happy you should keep the temperature at the lowest suggested level for the non-goldfish. Search your fish by name, and you will find the temperature range for each type of fish. Then cross reference them, and go with the lowest temp that they all can handle. A goldfish is a coldwater fish, but they can live in a wider temperature range than suggested. It's just not the ideal situation for them. You will probably not be able to go lower than 72 degrees, but I've kept goldies at that temperature before and they seemed happy and active. If your concerned about the fish damaging each other, you'll just have to try and see what happens. If you see a lot of fin damage or white spots, broken scales, then you will need to find the culprit and decide who you would rather keep. It may not be suggested to keep those fish together, but I have had some pairings in my tanks that weren't supposed to work, and all of the fish did quite well.

Yes, only not the comets. The comets enjoy cold water while your other fish enjoy warm water. The tanks temp. should be at least 74-78 degrees. I'd suggest you get a BIG pond and put the comets in there. Hope this helps! :-)

No. Often goldies have diseases that will kill freshwater fish. The goldies have a very different immune system and produce huge amounts of waste. Tropicals couldn't survive in this environment for long or very healthy. Like trying to raise poultry in a pig sty. Won't kill 'em instantly, but why would you raise poultry in that condition?

Yes, rosy barbs should be ok in that tank, but only if you have the room for several 5-6 would be best. Like other barbs they prefer to school and certainly do best in a school.
