If you are talking about the password to access the PC, there should be a jumper switch on the motherboard for restting the password. You should go to the web site of the PC manufaturer, click on technical support and search for restting system password". There you will find where the pins are loacted and how to switch the jumppers.
On My Dell, I had to change the position of the jumper, reboot and then change the jumper back to the original position.
Good luck.
Don't forget top wear an anti static wrist strap before touching the inside of the motherboard, AND make sure the power is DISCONNECTED,and press the power button torelease any power still in the PC

start the computer in safe mode. To do this, when the computer starts up, press F8 until it comes to a screen that gives you boot options. Select either "safe mode" or "safe mode with networking". Then you should be able to go to the login screen, where you will have your username and an "administrator" account. Login to the administrator account, go to the account settings section of Control Panel, and remove the password from your account. (your user account will be displayed as well as all the other accounts on the computer in the account settings section)

you could just power it off, power up and try again
If you really can't log in, try logging in as admnistrator (ususally blank password)
thirdly, you can download programs that reset the passwords in Windows 2000, XP (and maybe Vista now)
