I wore glasses or contacts for over 30 years to correct nearsightedness with a slight astigmatism. I knew a couple of people who underwent radial keratotomy and I knew I wanted to wait for LASIK to get cheaper b4 I did anything. I waited until 1999 and read all I could about it. I had it in May '99 and I got near perfect results. I am slightly farsighted in 1 eye and slightly nearsighted in the other, so even though I'm 50, I don't need glasses to read.
By all means, read everything you can and, with Yahoo answers, you should be able to get enough personal responses to make an informed decision.
Bon chance!

i know someone who had it done 3 weeks ago, its amazing. He went twice for a consultancy, had measurements etc taken. went on the fri morning to have it done, was back out on the street within the hour, the actual procedure itself takes minutes. drops in the eyes once you come out, vision a little blurry, back the next day for a check up, his vision was amazing that day and settled down very quickly. Its well worth looking into, he no longer needs glasses or contacts

do you recognize what an asymptote is? something gets closer and closer to the place its going to be, yet on no account incredibly gets there? specific, you will proceed healing, however the huge overwhelming majority of the healing could already be executed and that i distinctly doubt you would be waiting to bump into any replace in healing now (because it may be so miniscule). it truly is a protracted way of asserting which you would be able to ***** because of the fact in spite of large quantity of healing they have been looking forward to for sure isn't occurring. i'm between the three% who are not happy with it. In my case, i think of they decrease a divit around the exterior which could't be corrected (nonetheless i've got not checked in the previous couple of years). this suggests that my eye sight is UNCORRECTABLE at around 20/60. easily a hell of so lots extra appropriate than it strengthen into, yet nonetheless not crisp. I leave out having crisp inventive and prescient (in spite of if it did take glasses). i'm undecided i could evaluate myself an properly-known case: a million: I did it very early on while it strengthen into "bleeding component" technologies. in specific, they did not have Wavefront technologies for truly for sure mapping the attention earlier they function. 2: I had a terrible prescription to start with. i think of now-a-days, they don't even furnish Lasik as an option to people whose prescription is as undesirable as mine. on no account-the-much less, that's a surgical operation and surgical suggestions do have negative aspects. i think of a brilliant style of the "3 percenters" ***** approximately undesirable night inventive and prescient (the so referred to as "wet windshield" result), yet some have certainly thoroughly lost the inventive and prescient in one or perhaps the two eyes. yet ninety seven% are overjoyed with it. those are tremendously solid odds!

Actually I didn't do it because I'm still 15..I can't do it till I'm 18...But my Mom did it..It's amazing..My Mom used to wear glasses since she was in college..When she had the operation, she never wears it again..It's a very complex operation but in most cases it's successful..So don't worry & good luck..I want to do it too but I'm so scared..Anyway,I still have three years to think about it...
