I want to downgrade from Vista to XP because there were so many compatability issues. Even with games.. Does my PC specs allows me to install XP to it?

I can't believe that I made a wrong decision like this! :( Any suggestions guys, maybe I could return and change my product with DELL?

There were no options for me to choose XP or no OS in DELL's site when you purchase online. They seem to try to push out more vista users.

You can downgrade quite easily .
All of your hw is supported by XP (You may need to Dl drivers from the website for a few of the hardware ) but XP will work on this config (And quite faster too in fact) quite easily.

You can install XP on this machine, however there are 2 pieces of hardware I see here that are still on the incompatiblity list for XP. Media Card Reader (Most readers are XP Compliant but Vista Machines are being built with Readers with drivers designed for Vista. Mfg's are working on other driver versions. I ran into this recently with an HP 4GHz machine with 2 gigs ram. She ran fast, but the Ethernet card and the Card reader were not yet support (per HP Tech).

The second hardware I see is the Sound Blaster. It too is in the works for XP Driver Release due out in July 07 through Dell and then in Sept. 07 it will be released as a mass production Chipset driver so that will fix your issue later.

For now, Installing XP should be fine, you just might want to do without the Reader for a few weeks and replace the audio card until July whne Dell will have it available to the public. (Dell Tech Support Chat)

Yes your PC will run windows XP, and will be more stable. I never buy a new operating system the first year its available for the stability issues, and nothing works with it either.

That is more power than XP even needs so of course you can downgrade! You could also easily check Microsoft's Web site just to "make sure".

Heck, I'll even be nice and include the link!

Stick with XP-Pro and you will be happier. I am using a test computer right now with VISTA-Ultimate on it and I agree it's to early to run VISTA. I still use XP-Pro for everything that's important.

Yes, you can install XP with your system spec.
But you don't have to. You can always download and use the xp drivers and you should be OK.

it is advisable not to down grade as there might be some compatibility problems with the drivers ......... and te software compatibility issues will be taken care of in the near future
