I'm a cop right now and I make about 59,000 a year. My wife and I live comfortable and were not living check to check. But I got offered a job with a big personal security business over in L.A. I'll be making almost double what I make now and my wife thinks I should take that job. But how would I tell her that I don't want to leave and I like my job and what I do.

job and pofession are two different things..

what you have now is a profession and you love what you do. your wife should understand your decision.

and also, if you take the job that you don't like, it might affect your performance..

Just talk to her, and tell her you are happy where you are in your career. Surely she will understand, and be supportive of you. I know the money sounds nice, but your happiness is worth so much more than any raise they may offer you.

Have a wonderful day!

Sometimes less is more, just because they are offering you more money doesn't mean you'll be happier. Living in L.A. isn't wonderful, it's over crowded, over priced and very dirty.
Like I said "Less is More" be happy with what you have.

tell her you want to stick wtih what ur doing because your good at it.like u said its not like ur family is in debt or anything... i think she just wants u to take this job because she knows ul be good at it and also planning for the future. if u guys have or are goin to have kids the extra money could come in handy with school and other things. think about it in the long run

Tell her the truth. Simple as that. If not, you will not be happy and your wife will not understand what is wrong....
