I have no scientific data to prove this, but I believe that listening to classical music daily may help people overcome stress and ponder on ideas more often.

Hi Master Tong,
Absolutely, music can affect your mood..a tune smith crafts something using his or her emotions... and those are translated into notes..and they directly impact the emotions of the listener..it's like : "your vibration" picks up on the song's vibration....
>>>>>>>>
Since it is a form of "expression" (art) .. and is a form of "energy", music can give off feelings of emotion ..and thought, so it is true that it can have an affect on a person's being..... :)

Thanks, for the question! :)

My regards!

Take care!

Some years ago I would play music as I drove to work choosing a cassette tape (yes, I'm really old!) by rummaging in the box and choosing one at random. On the days when I listened to Beethoven, I would drive within the speed limit, be courteous and thoughtful and generally laid back. On other days my hand would alight on hard-rock and I would arrive at work having overtaken every car in front of me and come screaming into the car-park like a racing driver.

I believe that the more classical music I listened to, the calmer I became - and that the heavy-beat stuff made me crazier.

Maybe people are stressed by any kind music they have no control over. There was a trial held in a British City that cut vandalism by some huge percentage simply by playing Tom Jones in the Malls.

I wonder how you would do a double-blind test on this??

There have been countless studies to prove that music can in fact affect you. If it could not change your behavior then why would it exist in the first place.
If you want some good books on this subject, then check out http://www.oup.co.uk/academic/medicine/psychology/music_psychology/
There are many studies that been performed in order to attempt to determine if music has an affect on behavior and many of these show a definite correlation.

Yes, most definitely.

I have worked in school as Youth worker and Educational Assistant. I dealt with children who have special needs most of the time while I wasn't teaching. These children I dealt with have autism. Music was a good facilitator in pacifying them. Music proved that sensory conciousness was reached understandably that they could relate to it. Water was amother medium that can change their behavior. Sound of water running

Not merely a change, but a greater possibility !
If there is the right kind of music in the right dose for the required length of time, we can look for even a total TRANSFORMATION.
It is just obedience to the quantum mechanics theory.... close relation between sound, vibration & form !
