Of course he is. In my opinion Rowan is one of the funniest and most talented comedy actors / writers / producers of modern times. As Mr Bean he re-created the image of a lovable idiot and as Blackadder a superior being who was moulded by circumstances outside his control but which he manipulated to his own advantage. Along with Laurel and Hardy, Charlie Chaplin and Morcambe and Wise he ranks as my favourite funny man. What a lot of people don't know is that Rowan suffers from a stutter which he conquers by his particular speech articulation and by using funny expressions.
Rowan married Sunetra Sastry in 1990 in a quiet ceremony in the Russian Tea Room in New York City; Stephen Fry was best man. The couple live in a manor house in the Oxfordshire village of Waterperry, and have two children, Lily and Benjamin.
Long may he live and continue to give us so much pleasure.
