There are LOADS of them available out there. All of them are good and safe to use. You can use ANYONE that you like. Just make sure that you always use ONE anti-virus at a time.

Avast Home Edition (best real time protection, large number of skins available ; updating problems, default skin is difficult to understand)
http://avast.com/

AOL Active Virus Shield (best detection rate, hourly updating ; heavy on resources)
http://activevirusshield.com/

AVG Free(very light on resources, simple easy-to-understand features, most popular ; average detection)
http://free.grisoft.com/

AntiVir Personal Classic (light on resources, best heuristics ; slow updating, no email scanner, bald interface)
http://free-av.com/

PC Tools anti-virus Free edition (good ; highly inconfigurable)
http://pctools.com/antivirus/

Also, look out for the Comodo anti-virus (it's still in beta, full version to be out soon)

Only Microsoft Windows has a virus problem, so you won't be able to get anti-virus software for your computer - just to help hold Microsoft Windows together. There are loads of things for Windows as it is so patchy. Try AVG Free:
