There is a cord that should have come with the iPod that plugs both into your iPod and your computer's USB port (You use it for charging too). If your computer is newer, it should be able to find the right drivers to identify the iPod as an external device. From there all you need to do is install iTunes. Upload/buy songs for your library and then drag and drop them over the name of your iPod on the left hand sidescroll bar in the iTunes screen.

Basically, you would just have to intall 'iTunes' which is the program needed for you Nano to work. Then, as soon as you've plugged in you nano, you can just simply add Files/songs onto iTunes and then transfer them on to your Nano.

First make sure that Itunes is installed then just basically plug it in with the cable supplied with the Nano.

Simply do a File Import, or Import a Folder in iTunes.
Then make your playlist and transfer to Shuffle like normal.
