Zune review.
Zunes are very very good on the feature side of things but:
1. Expect hardware/software bugs, Look at the Xbox 360 3 red lights problem (see youtube) Microsoft are excellent on software but have no experience in hardware. This is more just to add to thier portfolio.
2. Battery life, Batt life is not great, lasts about 6 hours playing music, less if using other features.
3. Screen, The screen is easy to crack, mine cracked while i was in town in my pocket, they replaced it.
4, DRM, Expect to see restrictions on where you can get music from, with the microsoft genisis thing.
My rating, 3 out of a possible 5.
A great mp3, but niggles take its rating down.

The Zune was perfect for me. After I bought an iPod and found out I had to buy EVERY song for it or go steal music, I got the Zune. Zune offers Zune Pass. Millions of songs for the price of a CD. No more virus-infested sites and if I still want to buy a song, it's cheaper than iTunes.
The Zune is consantly being upgraded (it's only been out for less than a year). While there is the cool factor with iPods (that was one of the reasons I got the iPod) it didn't do what I wanted it to do.

i appreciate the Sony's battery life. i can do 2 weeks of workouts or more advantageous before I really could recharge the Sony. I hate Zune's ties you downloads to Zune. Very demanding. HD radio is staggering yet very few stations in my section. large parts are ok. verify community boardcasters

The Zune player is durable and has a big screen. It's a very decent music and video player.
BUT: the Zune software sucks, the music selection is terrible, it uses strange audio and video formats that aren't compatible with other players, it can't use podcasts, and there aren't any accessories made for it.
Overall, iPods are better for music and have a lot more accessories and options available. There's a lot more you can do with an iPod than a Zune.

Zunes are very good..
I was with my cousin today and he raves about how good it is, and the many advantages over iPod.
I did the research and he's right!
less expensive,
scratch free case
built-in wireless can to send to another Zune
larger screen
FM tuner
option for $15/mo unlimited downloads
Actually one more: you don't need iTunes!
