It depends on their relationship previous to the illness. They're the same as any other spouses, they can cheat, leave or stay till your dying day.

I would say not . Although it is hard for some people to deal with a Terminal Illness , it is no excuse , but some have a hard time dealing with that . I feel very sorry for that spouse . Our vows say "for better or worse , sickness and in health ",
which applies to a Terminal Illness , in my opinion .

Depends on where the love is ... if you truly love the spouse ... you'd never consider leaving when most needed ... but if it's yourself you love ... (and feel sorry for) ... you'll seek a better life ... did not the vows say ... "in sickness and in health" ???

This question caught my eye because I have a bad heart and my wife is healthy. If wouldn't had been for her staying at my side I would have been dead now. It's very common and that's bad.

Unfortunately some partners cant handle illness or a childs disability so they leave the relationship.
