I would recommend discussing your concerns with your dr. It sounds like it could be an anxiety disorder of some sort (not necessarily hypochondria) but the dr can help you to try and figure out what is going on.

First, calm down. Realize that you have NOT had a blood clot, you do NOT have a tumour, and you are still here and breathing. I would say that is good!
Ask yourself WHY you feel this way. Did you witness a family member suffer from a terrible illness? Did your mom tell you that you would get "sick" if you misbehaved? Have you seen a lot of death and destruction around you?
Perhaps you really do have organic hypochondria (meaning that nothing else caused it). And that is not something to be ashamed of if you do. It is (ironically) a real illness that can be treated with medication and/or therapy.
BUT, I suggest you try this first, unless you are suicidal and/or cannot function in your daily life. Then you need to see a doctor RIGHT AWAY:
Try:
-Making a list of the things you do to stay healthy. If you do not exericse, start. Stop smoking and eating unhealthy foods if you do. Eat a wholesome healthy diet. Take vitamins. Do yoga. Keep track of all of this.
-Look at your family history and your own health history. If all is negative, that at least can help you to put your fears behind you.
-Sign up for a marathon. Use your body to show your strength and fitness. Volunteer to help those less well off than you (I would avoid sick people for now, until you get better yourself. Don't want any ideas!).
The bottom line is this: If your medical tests are negative, and you are otherwise healthy, you need to trust them.
Although it happens, the chances of a young person getting stomach cancer etc. are very low. You would be very ill and KNOW somthing is wrong for sure. You would not have time to worry. If you are coughing up blood and/or what looks like coffee grinds, by all means go to the hospital. However, don't panic over a single stomach ache.
We don't know when our time is up. Healthy people get hit by busses. Genetics can cause diseases to appear in childhood. Other people develop diseases due to lifestyle. Some people live until 100 and smoke like a chimmney. We just don't know.
But life is too special to spend it worrying yourself sick. Keep yourself healthy and hope for the best.

Call for a check up. Make sure you are seen once a year to be up to top speed health wise. While there talk to your doctor about everything that worries you etc.
He / she should listen and reassure you everything is fine.
Also they may help you with the words or medicine to lesson the fears you have.
It's very hard not to worry. About death, illness etc.
Hypochondriasis is often accompanied by other psychological disorders. Clinical depression, phobias and somatization disorder are the most common accompanying conditions in people with hypochondriasis, as well as a generalized anxiety disorder diagnosis at some point in their life.
Many people with hypochondriasis experience a cycle of intrusive thoughts followed by compulsive checking, which is very similar to the symptoms of obsessive-compulsive disorder. However, while people with hypochondriasis are afraid of having an illness, patients with OCD worry about getting an illness or of transmitting an illness to others. Although some people might have both, these are distinct conditions.
Patients with hypochondriasis often are not aware that depression and anxiety produce their own physical symptoms that might be mistaken for signs of a serious medical disease.

Being a hypochondriac is a good thing if you practice it judiciously. Do you know that a lot of nurses like me and doctors are in that same category.? Sometimes too much knowledge can create a lot of anxiety and make you think of the worst poss scenario.
If you're aware of all your ills, and pains and aches; it makes you a more cautious person on how to live a healthy way of life. It makes you more careful and selective as to what you eat and put in your system. We are what we eat.! Aside from the genetic factor, which you, or anybody for matter have no control over. You defintely have a say -so on the environmental factors. A lot of diseases can be prevented or avoided; if we are careful as to what we ingest!!!!!
Remember, cholesterol takes twenty yrs to develop. Obesity denotes more health problems. such as DM, CAD, HTN and CVA. Proper diet and exercise go hand in hand. Eat a lot of fruits and vegetables. Plenty of fluids and rest is beneficial. And above all, eat everything in......... moderation. Avoid STRESS which is the root of all illnesses. Practice Yoga and meditation to ease the anxiety and stress.
Try listening to music. It's food for the soul ! Fortify yourself with a lot of vitamins and minerals to boost your immune system; to thwart off any infections. So next time, when you start having one of these anxiety atttacks over what could be poss wrong with you; try to take in a big breath and relax. Go to the computer and read up on what's bothering you; if you must. You'll find out in no time at all, that your worries are unsubstantiated.or unfounded. And by worrying, you could literally make yourself sick.
Being ill once in a while do help boost up your immune system. And it's not poss to be totally germ-free. I hear a lot of people complain that they were hardly ever sick. Then, when they suddently get sick; their immune system get compromised immediatley, because they are not accustomed with the daily rigors of life. Furthermore, nowadays, the science of medicine has advanced quite a bit. People are getting much more health .conscious and .......aware.
Remember, most diseases or illnesses come with different groups of signs and symptoms and not just on one occasion.
And sometimes, we become our own enemies and create a lot of havoc to our body via unnecessary worries.

I'm sorry to hear that you're so terrified. I can understand you feeling freaked out, especially if you've had this condition for a protracted amount of time. Hypochondria is a form of anxiety/depression & eventually can beceome physically & mentally excruciating as minor aches/pains are continually exaggerated & amplified by the mind. If you're having problems being a fully functioning person b/c you're preoccupied with your health, then seek psychiatric help. There are many approaches to treating hypochondria, you just have to make the first step.

try imagining what you would feel if someone you knew like a friend or sibling was a hypercondriact. You would get sick and tired of listening to them complain. You should remeber that people will stop caring when you are ill. So the thought of honesty should help.

well well, you seem to have a very vivid imagination.
if not then you'd better seek council either from a confidant or some professional facility.
other than that, you could take command of your mind's strength or power and channel it to improve your life rather than to self destruct.
i may not sound very compassionate but this outlet doesn't facilitate that avenue well for me. please indulge me. i mean well.
