hmm ... the word did sound familiar i guess i was not wrong about it after all.
Any way it is not called tasbih or dhikr it is called Masbaha ... tasbih & dhikr is what a muslim do & Masbaha is what a muslim use.

Personally i dont have one but i did buy one for my mother and it is a Turquoise stones and another one for my grandmother and it was silver and rose wood it is nice when you use it your fingers picks up the scent.

More into this subject the standard number is 99 beads because muslim usually do tasbih devided in 3 groups each group is repeated 33 times but this is not a must more or less a Masbaha is a tool that helps for counting. Some muslims consider the use of a Masbaha as a forbiden act they prefer using their own fingers and go against the Masbaha other muslims recommend it and perfer to use.

More into this subject there are others uses for a Msubaha specially for the Sufis/Sufians/Sufi what ever you want to call them but this is another subject :).

All the four names mentioned by you are same used by different faiths.

TASBIH and DHIKR are used by people of Islamic faith. They both are same. ROSARY [rose garden], prayer of Roman Catholics, in which beads are used as counters. The term, applied also to the beads, is extended to Muslim, Hindu, and Buddhist prayers that use beads.

Dhikr , ذکر (Zikr in Urdu and Zekr in Persian) (Arabic "pronouncement", "invocation" or "remembrance") is the remembrance of God commanded in the Qur'an for all Muslims. To engage in dhikr is to have awareness of God according to Islam. Dhikr as a devotional act includes the repetition of divine names, supplications and aphorisms from hadith literature, and sections of the Qur'an. More generally, any activity in which the Muslim maintains awareness of God is considered dhikr. Dhikr is also spelled zikr based on its pronunciation in Turkish, Persian, and Urdu.Known also as tasbih are usually beads upon a string, 99 or 100 in number, which corresponds to the 99 names of God and other recitations.

In HINDUISM we use MALA or JABAMALA with 108 beeds of Rudhraksha, crystal, Tulsi beed, Navrathna use. Generally 10 is the aspiciouos number and all our slokas and stotras called Astothras are of 108 verses or names. To chant it or repeat it 108 times these Jaba Malas are used.

I have Navrathna mala and rudhraksha (Small sized bead) mala. Rudhraksha is used for worshiping Shiva and Tulsi or Crystal are used for worshiping Lord Vishnu and other dieties. -

it really is no longer incorrect to own a Rosary, carry a Rosary even as praying, or maybe pray the Rosary itself. accordingly, the Rosary is a link to someone who's particular on your husband and that you under no circumstances were given to satisfy in this life. once you carry something that she touched, it really is as once you're touching her hand and experiencing a touch of her life. and regardless of in case you be sure you want to how you could pray the Rosary, it really is nonetheless all correct. The Rosary is a fashion of questioning about issues that occurred in the course of the life of Jesus and His mom Mary, then making use of those classes on your human being challenge. in case your mom-in-regulation prayed the Rosary, it truly is yet another touchstone between you, her, and your husband. anybody else who pulls a hissy more advantageous wholesome and tries to allow you to know in the different case is done of non secular moose truffles.

I wear Tulasi kanti mala around my neck and Tulasi japa mala (rosary) which has 108 beads for counting the names of Krishna. Thus I chant a minimum of 16 rounds of the Hare Krishna maha-mantra every day.

Hare Krishna Hare Krishna Krishna Krishna Hare Hare
Hare Rama Hare Rama Rama Rama Hare Hare.

The word Hare is the form of addressing the energy of the Lord, and the words Krishna and Rama are forms of addressing the Lord Himself. Both Krishna and Rama mean the supreme pleasure, and Hara is the supreme pleasure energy of the Lord, changed to Hare in the vocative. The supreme pleasure energy of the Lord helps us to reach the Lord. . .

These three words, namely Hare, Krishna and Rama, are the transcendental seeds of the maha-mantra. The chanting is a spiritual call for the Lord and His energy, to give protection to the conditioned soul. This chanting is exactly like the genuine cry of a child for its mother's presence. Mother Hara helps the devotee achieve the Lord Father's grace, and the Lord reveals Himself to the devotee who chants this mantra sincerely. . .

No other means of spiritual realization is as effective in this age of quarrel and hypocrisy as the maha-mantra:
Hare Krishna Hare Krishna Krishna Krishna Hare Hare
Hare Rama Hare Rama Rama Rama Hare Hare.

The meaning of the above prayer is as follows,
"O Supreme Energy of Krishna and O Lord Krishna, please engage me in Your eternal service." or in other words,
"O energy of the Lord [Hare], O all-attractive Lord (Krishna), O Supreme Enjoyer (Rama), please engage me in Your service."

The Sanskrit word mantra is a combination of two syllables, man and tra. Man means "mind," and tra means "deliverance." Therefore a mantra is that which delivers you from mental concoction, from hovering on the mental plane.
So if you chant this mantra—

Hare Krishna Hare Krishna Krishna Krishna Hare Hare
Hare Rama Hare Rama Rama Rama Hare Hare

—very soon you'll find that you are coming from the darkness to the light.
