God curses the serpent, "upon your belly you shall go, and dust you shall eat all the days of your life;" the woman he punishes with pain in childbirth, and with subordination to man: "your desire shall be for your husband, and he shall rule over you;" and Adam[8] he punishes with a life of toil: "In the sweat of your face you shall eat bread till you return to the ground." The man names his wife Eve,[9] "because she was the mother of all living."

"Behold," says God, "the man has become like one of us, knowing good and evil." God expels the couple from Eden, "

not in my opinion as a christian woman. I figure it is just the fact that some women DO tend to manipulate men into doing stupid things just so that they can have company in their guiltiness. Personal I find most women to be silly and irrational and lets face it eve was exactly that! A silly curious and irrational woman with no real understanding of sin or the consequences of it. In this case though i would say, "Hey I am glad for free will, even if that means i will stumble and fall now and then, I just need to learn from my mistakes!" Besides, most monotheistic religions place women in lower standing. And apparently so did mother nature! I have no problem with it the way it is!

PS whomever keeps getting this post deleted is another eve, silly irrational and ignorant. If you claim to believe something then you should live it. So much like God said he would never violate our free will, you shouldn't violate the person who asked this, he/she has a right to speak freely!

If you want to look at Christianity's view on this, perhaps you should filter it through the NEW Testament's interpretation of these events.

In fact, the New Testament very clearly holds Adam (the MAN!) responsible. And believe it of not, the person who makes the point is Paul, whom many critics label a 'woman-hater' !

"As by a man came death, by a MAN has come also the resurrection of the dead. For as in ADAM all DIE, so also in Christ shall all be made alive". (1 Corinthians 15:21-22)

"Sin came into the world through one man, and death through sin, and so death spread to all men because all sinned. . .
many died through one man's trespass" (Romans 5:12...15)

And that does not even begin to touch on the many ways that the NT (esp. Jesus) ELEVATED women.

no

it is a further proof of the inspiration of the bible-also Adam joined her in the sin. The bible tells the truth-Adam and Eve could have lied and said otherwise -which would have been written one day into a history book.

Genesis 3:15 tells of the coming of the Messiah Jesus to forgive sin in crushing the evil one that tempted Eve and Adam in that order.

I am born a Jew taught to reject Jesus and the New Testament now Jesus is my savior and best friend-its all good now. John 3 repented and born again.

have a great day and thank God for truth from Eve and Adam and mercy and grace from Jesus. In his amazing grace, David

Women aren't degraded here, it's the reader's intelligence. Since Adam and Eve couldn't have known what they were doing was wrong until after the fruit was eaten (no matter what warning God gave) they bear no true responsibility. God on the other hand set it all up and knew it would happen. What a jerk!

No. Christainty blames temptation and Lucifer. It could have been any one in the future if Eve wouldnt have fell to temptation.
Lucifer would have kept trying and we dont know if it was his first attempt to tempt her or not. Moses could have probably wrote the beginning book(Genesis) in Hundreds of books but the story had to move forward.
Moses and God tried to get the word out. Hence the important stuff.

No.

In the Bible it states God created Eve of Adam. So, they were in the same mind set.

The reason Satan/serpent chose to offer the fruit to Eve was because of God's prophesy. God professed that Eve would have a seed that crushes the head of Satan (the seed being a daughter of Eve that would give birth to a savior--Mary). Thus Satan chose the one that would be most costly.

Eve was deceived by Satan, but Adam ate the fruit in full knowledge of what he was doing. So, he was as guilty as Eve, if not more so.
If you read the story in Genesis 3, you'll see that Eve admitted that she had been deceived. Adam however blamed God for giving him Eve.
Here is the cause of hatred against women, "if I can't blame God, I'll blame her" that I now have to work hard for my daily food.

There is also another cause of hatred against women: Satan.
God said to Satan "I will put enmity between you and the woman, and between your offspring and hers; he will crush your head, and you will strike his heel."
Satan knew that his head would be crushed one day by the offspring of the woman. So, he tries to crush woman as much as he can.

Well, yes. And I can think of more than one religion that somehow somewhere tries to explain why men are superier and women are stupider so women should listen to men, and men should be the head of the household.

If only I was a woman, I probably would be an atheist instead of.... wait... i am a man and I am already an atheist.

I believe Temptation was the cause of sin. Eve was just a bit naive and Adam was with no personality at all!! He was influenced by Eve, to death! And now, see where we are!!
