In the church congreation I attend there are medical doctors, PhDs, people who hold political office.
These people are addressed by their titles, such as, "Dr. Jones will read the scripture today."
I thought church is a place where our relationship, foremost is that we are brother and sisters in Christ. It seems to me always referring to a person as Dr. puts an emphsis in the wrong place. It also high lights divisions of educated and not educated.
Shouldn't we talk to and about each other as Brother Jones or Sister Jones?

If you are really going to take the emphasis off the self, why not try dropping names and calling everyone servant, as in servant of god? And do away with the Pastor/preist/whatever. And maybe do away with the building.

Meet outside, use no names, and have no leader. Just everyone praise their god and remove all secular influence from the spiritual, and visa versa.

I think that it's better to call them brother or/and sister because doctor is a title for professors, doctors, etc. not for church and kindof "seperates" us from each other. (also it gets quite redundant)
