"Forgive us our sins" means "Let us continue in our iniquity." is it one of the most pernicious of doctrines, and one of the most fruitful sources of immorality. It has been the chief cause of making Christian nations the most immoral of nations. In teaching this doctrine Christ committed a sin for which his death did not atone, and which can never be forgiven. There is no forgiveness of sin. Every cause has its effect; every sinner must suffer the consequences of his sins. Does it mean that one can sin repent get forgiveness and sin again repeat the cycle

In one sense, you're right. Every sinner must suffer the consequences of his sins.
For every sin, there are repercussions.

For your last question, if the repentance is honest, then yes, you will be forgiven.

"How many times should I forgive a brother?
Answer.... 70 times 7. Jesus told His disciple this and He is not double minded. If it is a principle for us to follow initiated by Him, He will go by it also.

I have repented for the same sin more than once.

:"Forgive us our sins" DOES NOTmean "Let us continue in our iniquity." Please look it up in a dictionary.

What is wrong with forgiving our fellow man? One of the reasons why wars can rage for decades is because no one is man enough to admit their mistakes and come to terms with each other. Yet you say that ie. making peace via forgiveness is "the most fruitful source of immorality" when peace, forgiveness, and charity quell endless bloodshed is evil and immoral???

Most immoral? Perhaps you refer to the States(lol).
Seriously man. Have you ever visited the Philippines? It is a predominantly Catholic country. Yet the people there are one of the kindest&happiest people I have ever met. Sure it is a poor country, but they are so God loving and the churches are jampacked and crowded. They constantly place in the top 5 happiest nations. And if asked why they are usually kind and happy, it is due to their love for God.

Please dont stereotype. It's awful, discriminating, and a chocfull of bias.

**more later peace out.

I believe that you should think about it on a personal level rather than a definite system.

If, for example, somebody murdered another, and asked God for forgiveness, he would be forgiven. But if he then did it again, he would probably not be so easily forgiven.

I believe that when you repent it needs to be sincere. You need to acknowledge that you know what you did was wrong and that it won't happen again. If you Sin, say sorry, do it again, say sorry again, do it again, say sorry again, and keep going... God is going to see that you may not be sincere when you ask forgiveness. There is no guarantee that you won't do it again.

I believe there is no definite forumula - it comes down to the individual. God knows everyone and he knows what is in your mind and heart.

I have no Bible citation for what i've just said, and possibly some of the Bible might not support it, I'm not sure- but I do believe that God is all knowing and all loving and that if you are sincere, God will take you seriously.

This is purely my opinion. :oP

"Forgive us our sins" means "Let us continue in our iniquity." ???
I must bluntly state that you neither understand the concept/doctrine, nor basic linguistics.
Forgiveness from God is NOT the same as forgiveness from man's law.
Forgiveness from God would not relieve us from paying a price for violating a Physical law.
One may jump off of a precipice and, realizing the error of suicide, ask for forgiveness on the way down, but that forgiveness from God will not stop that person from paying the price that the law of gravity will exact upon him.
Forgiveness cannot be earned, but it can only be given freely.
The fact that one has received forgiveness, should appeal to the conscience of the one forgiven, to motivate him to not repeat his error. but the forgiveness does not have a mechanical affect to stop the re-occurance of sin, if it did, it would nullify free will and thereby nullify obedience.
God is NOT mocked, that which he sows, he will reap!
our view appears to be one of one looking in from the outside. You CANNOT see the repentance of another person's heart, and in like manner, you do not know who receives forgiveness, because God only forgives those who repent.
As for teaching that Christ committed a sin? You are ignorant of what the Bible teaches and what those who lived with him taught.

You don't understand the 'covering' that Jesus provided for the sins of the people. Perhaps reading Hebrews 7 especially verses 23 - 28 would clairify the meaning thereof.

Paul ties in the Old Testament to the New. The whole book is a resource for understanding the need for the Old Testament types and shadows of Christ to understand the things that God was having the Hebrews do in their temple. God did not simply erase the Old Testament sacrifices. What God did was use them to show the need for them concerning the New testament faithful.

EDITED for clairity.

Christian thought ?
"Forgive us our sins" means "Let us continue in our iniquity."

This part of your question, (statement) is Contradictory and WRONG to start out with.

Once a person is SAVED that is NOT A LICENSE TO SIN. The Lord WILL hold a person accountable for turning away from Him when they know better. Read this from the NEW Testament, and if you need help please let me know.

We all sin, and we all commit the same sins over and over. Even the mighty Paul had this problem. "For I have the desire to do what is good, but I cannot carry it out. For what I do is not the good I want to do; no, the evil I do not want to do—this I keep on doing." (Romans 7:18-19)

The only hypocrites among us are those who deny they have problems similar to yours. For some it's over eating, or drinking too much. Others can't control their tempers, or their lusts, or their envy, or their pride. Still others have idols they can't lay down, like their possessions, their bank accounts, or their leisure activities. If sin wasn't pleasurable we'd have no trouble denying it.

The best way to get rid of a recurring sin is to stop giving it so much importance. The devil exploits the importance we give to our sins by heaping on extra guilt for committing them, which actually has the effect of making a repeat offense more likely. Pretty soon we feel so bad that we're hiding from God, like Adam in the garden, and that's just what the devil wants.

When you sin, confess and receive your forgiveness. (1 John 1:9) For God, that's the end of it and He forgets it ever happened. You do the same. Repeat the verse from James 4:7 Submit yourselves, then, to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you. Guilt does not come from God. You resist the devil by seeing the guilt for what it is, his effort to drive a wedge between you and God, and rejecting it.

Pretty soon you'll find you're not doing it as much anymore and you'll have deprived the devil of one more weak spot to probe. Stay focused on James 4:7, keep your guard up, and when you stumble forgive and forget, just like God does. Eventually you'll achieve the victory you desire.

The most important thing for all of us to remember is that this life isn't about pleasing ourselves. It's about thanking God for saving us. We do it by adopting behavior that pleases Him.

The Christian right are intolerant of free thinkers. They feel they have little or nothing to learn from perspectives other than their own. They wish to raise their children in "closed" sometimes "Anglo only" environments, exposing them as little as possible to the "corrupting" influences of the outside world. Indeed, by isolating their children this way, they pass on their intolerance to their progeny. Music and art to the Christian right must conform to their biblical beliefs. For example, lyrics or art labeled "pornographic," films and/or books that accept, not necessarily promote, homosexuality as an alternative life style are condemned as corrupting influences on youth. The Christian right, almost gratuitously makes homosexuality a rallying point, a way to raise "true believers" in thoughtless, easy condemnation. They readily claim that the country is run by homosexuals and blame them for numerous social ills. To many of the Christian right, AIDS represents God's punishment of homosexuals.

THEIR HATRED ONLY MEANS that they do not understand the true meanings of the bible that they are so fond of quoting and that THEIR attitude can only mean one thing. THAT according to their religion, their behaviour and hatred condemns them and that THEY WILL GO TO THE HELL THAT THEY WISH ON EVERYONE ELSE.

I was guilty of many sins and worse I cudn't overcome them. But when I asked God to cleanse my sins since Jesus shed His blood not for Him but for others, to my amazement I was not only forgiven but the ability to do my addicted sin had left me.
You may not understand till you willingly ask for it. I am sure you will be glad because you wanted to atleast try asking God.
Though born a christian, I was not sure of these things, until recently because I dint want to follow anybody and loose my rights to do all things on my own. Now I am glad that I made up my mind to let go of things I wanted to do cause they didnt give me the peace I really wanted.
I can surely tell u that only God can give us the love and peace that His creation needs, we can never be complete without it.

YOU HAVE TAKEN THAT COMPLETELY OUT OF CONTEXT!.!.!.!.!.
Read the whole prayer the Christ taught us.
In that prayer He taught us to ask for forgiveness as we forgive those who trespass against us.
THAT MEANS::: God is going to forgive you, and I the same way you, and I forgive others.
Anybody on your hate list? Because if there is trust me; if you do not forgive them, then do not expect the same from God. He will forgive you....the way you forgive others.
