Dell E521 using vista Basic with 1GB DDR2 Ram. Everything set to optimize for performance rather than quality. All non essential programs turned off. Is there a setting I can tweak to speed up connecting with IE7. Will Fire fox connect faster. Vista is a performance PIG.

None of the answers were even close. I found the solution in the User account control settings. By turning this off in User accounts in the control panel IE7 is now Huming. This enables IE7 to run as administrator which was not happening despite the fact I was logged on as administrator.
