Vinegar can be drying in large doses but it's good for cleaning out the shampoo residue that dries hair out. I'd use a thick conditioner like Helene Curtis Cholesterol massage it into the scalp & hair, then put a plastic cap on & let it sit about 15-20 mins. before rinsing. Also with it being coarse I'd recommend a razor cut. Blunt cuts are more for thin to medium hair. Razor cuts tend to tame coarse hair better. Also layers help. Especially if you wear it long.

Apple cider vinegar is really good. I use a quart jug. Use about a 1/2 cup of the vinegar and fill the remainder with warm water. Just pour over the hair, soaking it good, and let it sit for a couple of minutes and rinse out.
Also, the Mane and Tail horse shampoo is excellent for human hair too. Horses have a lot coarser hair than humans.
I have used both (and still use the vinegar) and they work much better than most stuff.

Pureed avocado. Leave it on for about 15 minutes, then shampoo it out. You might need to use an outside hose or a sink with a garbage disposal. otherwise the drain could clog. I've also used olive oil, leave it on for about an hour and then wash it out. Straight Jojoba oil also works as a leave in conditioner and its good if you're out in the sun.

A home remedy for dry hair is to wash your hair with your regular shampoo and just add about a teaspoon of mayo with it and it will put moisture into your hair. It will also make your hair shinny and wavy.

here are some home remedies i learned from my mom:
- heating coconut oil and applying to the scalp
- rubbing aloe vera directly on the scalp
- using conditioner everyday, and shampoo only when needed, or once a week
hope these help :-)

Just use a nice shampoo and conditioner... I'll be sure to never get vinegar in my hair.. it's already greasy as it is =( And if you overdo it you could just take a shower and wash it out...
