Actually, you have a choice. If you're brave, you might want to pronounce it "Seltik."
When I was in high school and college in the 1960's and 70's, people pronounced it "Seltic". At that time, most Americans didn't even know who the Celts were even though they had all heard of the basketball team "The Boston Celtics."
With a revival of interest in Celtic lore and music in the 1980's, a 'politically correct' form "Keltic" began to emerge and is heard almost exclusively nowadays.
The 1931 edition of "Funk & Wagnalls Dictionary" lists both "seltic" and "keltic" as correct forms. Traditionally, "keltik" was more the German pronunciation (German keltisch). English pronunciation tended to mimic the French "sel-teek (celtique).
It is interesting to note that "Celtic" is somewhat of an artificial term. It was first used by the Ancient Greeks colonists in Marsaille, France (then known as Marsalla) to refer to the local native inhabitants living there (Greek, 'Keltoi'). However, we don't know if these people were really "Celts" - the Gauls that Julius Caesar talks about - or Iberians (see Basques and Etruscans) or Ligurians instead.
Historically, until recent times, neither the Bretons, the Welsh, the Irish or the Scots ever used the word "Celtic" to describe themselves. European scholars began referring to these people and their languages as "Celtic" only on the latter eighteenth (18th) century.

It's always a k sound. Use that sound even when refering to the basketball team. If they don't like it, they can eat the nets. That goes for football teams too.
