If you drank either really hot or really cold water then your body would burn up a few calories/kilojoules in getting the water to be the same temperature as the rest of your body...possibly

No it's cold water. Your body has to stay at a certain temp. If you drink hot water no work. But the colder the water is the more your body has to work. Hot water only speeds it up if there's caffeine in it which is a stimulant.

I have heard that drinking water at room temperature while you are eating can help aid in faster digestion and less fat absorption. My sister was told that by a nutritionist, however, it did not work for her.

Water can't speed up your metabolism, period. It may burn more calories trying to warm water up or cool it down but it will do nothing for your metabolism.
