It is wrong to stuff a child with these concepts which he/she hardly understands. The formative stage should be devoted to learning of basics like science, grammar, language which will be necessary to develop a software for proper thinking and reasoning. And at a later stage the child should be inquisitive on his/her own to know the knowable unknown. That will make him a good man and the society will be benefited by such people.

Yeah, I think good teachings should always begin at an early stage; but we should be careful as these years are when the basic mentality of a human being gets structured, one should go easy with it without too much of elaboration for it may all get into the child a wrong idea, just the simple yet the building blocks should be taught like "Jesus loves all" and care should be taken that the child does not feel things are being imposed on them.

First of all, teaching Bible or Quran is only a symbolic activity done to make the child aware that there is a concept of good and evil and also that 'The good' will win in the end and 'The bad' will have to back off. Whether a child knows God or not, the concept becomes clear in mind of the growing kid and it paves way for a healthy thinking in him.

In the name of Allah the most Gracious the most Merciful.
The first thing a muslim child hears as soon as he is born is
when the parent speaks in the childs ear and informs him that
there is no God but Allah and the prophet Muhammad [pbuh]
is his slave and messenger. As the child grows he should be
nutured into religion and the main stream of life with a good
balance. The earlier we began teaching the child the Holy
Quran is better because the quran contains 100% scientific
facts, beautiful stories of Prophets and dos and donts with
consequences. The quran is a book of signs, which contains
science, history, geography, botany, astronomy, phycics,
sociology, it is a complete way of life and is the Trurh, You
cannot bring up your child with half truths and fabrications. It is
defenitely recommended as the first book your child should
begin reading.
The second step is the prayer, our prophet recommended us
to teach our children at and early age of seven to start praying
and to make sure the child at the age of ten Goes to the masjid because if the child is God concious from the very onset he will definitely grow to be a person of character and
piety.Yet everything should be done in moderation .

No. Why teach a child something he is too young to understand? Religion should be taught when a child is old enough to understand it and has the thinking skills and ability to question it and do his own research. There's nothing wrong with a parent answering a child's questions about religion or God when they're very little, but in my opinion forcing religion on a young child is cruel.

Does a loving parent withhold food until such time as a child can understand what it is, & what it's for? OR, does he make sure that he gives enough --and good quality-- foods to the child, to ensure that one's health? Does he allow the child to refuse to eat as that one grows, or, insist that they show respect & appreciation for the provisions?

Responsible parents begin early to train their children, even to warn them how to react in dangerous situations. The earlier the better, for life is at stake.

God's word on the matter is:

"Train up a boy according to the way he should go. As he grows old, he will not turn aside from it." --Proverbs 22:6

"“Go on bringing [your children] up in the discipline and mental-regulating of Jehovah.” --Ephesians 6:4.

“Listen, O Israel: Jehovah our God is one Jehovah. And you must love Jehovah your God with all your heart and all your soul and all your vital force. These words that I am commanding you today must prove to be on your heart; and you must inculcate them in your son and speak of them when you sit in your house and when you walk on the road and when you lie down and when you get up." --Deuteronomy 6:4-7

Why question only religious knowledge? Why not question ANY form of knowledge to be taught at the formative stage? Truth is, a child learns much from his surroundings, therefore a Christian parent will teach his kids Christian values and the Bible.

http://www.sullivan-county.com/identity/intol_right.htm

The Christian right are intolerant of free thinkers. They feel they have little or nothing to learn from perspectives other than their own. They wish to raise their children in "closed" sometimes "Anglo only" environments, exposing them as little as possible to the "corrupting" influences of the outside world. Indeed, by isolating their children this way, they pass on their intolerance to their progeny. Music and art to the Christian right must conform to their biblical beliefs. For example, lyrics or art labeled "pornographic," films and/or books that accept, not necessarily promote, homosexuality as an alternative life style are condemned as corrupting influences on youth. The Christian right, almost gratuitously makes homosexuality a rallying point, a way to raise "true believers" in thoughtless, easy condemnation. They readily claim that the country is run by homosexuals and blame them for numerous social ills. To many of the Christian right, AIDS represents God's punishment of homosexuals.

THEIR HATRED ONLY MEANS that they do not understand the true meanings of the bible that they are so fond of quoting and that THEIR attitude can only mean one thing. THAT according to their religion, their behaviour and hatred condemns them and that THEY WILL GO TO THE HELL THAT THEY WISH ON EVERYONE ELSE.

There is nothing more edifying to the young tender mind than patriarchal religious indoctrination. How else would these babes learn such levels of guilt, arrogance, sexism, repression and self-righteousness?

DO not teach them to think for themselves. Homeschool them into subordination and supplication before an invisible, possessive and vengeful father- figure.

You know it makes sense.

It is very much necessary to teach the young children value oriented spirituality. You can teach them first the stories from either Bible or Koran or Ramayan or about truth, tolerance, peace etc. In fact children with their tender mind will imbibe them into their heart and they will not question you like adults.
