Unfortunately it seems like a lot of people think Islam is a very hateful religion and anyone who practices is either anti-American or a terrorist. People are ignorant.

It is misunderstood to a great degree, it's up to the people to get to the truth themselves.
People are seeking the truth and realize what they've heard , seen and be taught has been a lie.
Islam is the fasting growing religion not only in this country but that world as well.

It is the duty of every Muslim to remove the misconceptions about Islam. It is misunderstood by people because of the actions of some Muslims, but that does not mean, Islam is a not a good religion.
We, as Muslims can explain about Islam to our friends, colleauges, neighbours and so on. We should criticise about the wrong-doings of Muslims, but should make it clear that Islam that does not support it and severe punishement is there even for Muslims i they disobey Allah or hurt people for no reason.

Islam is nearly as poorly understood by Westerners as Christianity is.
That being said, we know more of the terms of Christianity so it sounds more well understood than Islam.
Both, in my opinion, are terribly misunderstood by the Western societies and cultures.

The reason Islam is misunderstood is because of the media. If people want to remain uneducated about Islam, then let it be. but if you want to learn about it then dont learn from the media. go read the Quran or a islamic book, this is why i dont judge Christians or Jews or anyone else based on what I learn from the media.

All one has to do is watch the evening news and all the horror the Islamic people create, the bombings, the killings.
What they think is proper, stoning for infidels, stoning for affairs outside the marriage, it goes on and on.
It seems like the Islamic people do not have a sense of decency or a feeling for humanity, even for they're own people. They'd soon kill then understand, they really scare me.

Daily one book is published against Islam. But islam is spreading due to truthfullness by leaps and bounds.

very misunderstood... the west still sees it as harmless and just anoying,, and not the virus it truly is.
