If so, why?

I'm angry at the ones who try to tell me how to live my life and force the Bible down my throat. I don't like the way they try to change our laws and have certain things banned because they believe they're doing right by Jesus. I also don't agree with a lot of their preaching methods and how they believe their religion is right and everyone else is wrong. I know there are some good Christians out there who are not like that, but these seem to be the ones who stand out the most and give Christianity a bad name, which in turn makes me and a lot of other people angry at Christians.

Hmm, let me just take a stab at this...

Millenia of persecution at Christian hands by anything other than a Christian (and sometimes even persecution of other Christians at the hands of fellow Christians).

Ever take a look at history? Could it be the mass murder the Christian followers have performed on anyone not Christian? Like, I don't know.. the Crusades, the Childrens Crusade, the witch hunts, the forced conversion of others, etc. The only thing thats changed is that Christians can no longer force you to switch religions at sword point. Now they use politics to try to force you to live by their rules.

You ask why? Go take a history course.

Other than the Greeks and Romans, Christianity is the single greatest influence in the entire world since its inception. And not for the better.

How do I know this? I spent two years in university and another two in college. As part of the courses, though my studies were mainly biology, they do insist that you take some other courses as well. I took some humanities and have quite a few courses in history under my belt.

You might like to try the same.

I am an Atheist and no I wouldn't say that I am angry at Christians. I believe we all should be held responsible for our own actions and the blame/anger should never fall on a whole group of people based upon somes actions. I do get annoyed with the ones who are rude and try to push their religion on others when it's unwanted. I believe that everyone has the right to believe in which ever religion they feel is right for them. No one should try to convert them or insult them for their beliefs. I respect Christians rights to believe in God. I ask they respect my right to not believe in god. Several of them just don't respect that right though. I do have a problem with those people but I don't take it out on all Christians.

I feel that the main problem is that alot of Christians tend to try to control other peoples lives. I don't think that it's fair nor right to try to get everyone to have to live by what the Christian bible says if that is not something they believe in.

A few are because of the talking to a brick wall syndrome .
But it goes both ways and is just impotent anger anyway.
I don't know about you as Christian or Atheist but If let y guard down or lose my presence of mind the sheer stupidity of it provokes my temper too . Abstinence from hurting anger is not always that easy but is worth the effort none the less.

Some atheists are angry with christians. Why, because of previous experiences they've had. Maybe they feel like they were tricked by them as children. Maybe they feel christians go around tricking people by saying they are the only way to god.

Maybe they don't like people who intentionally convince themselves of things they think they know and refuse to even consider anything else.

In my religion I have beliefs, but as I learn new things my ideas and beliefs about life grow as well. I don't believe I already have all the answers. I don't refuse to listen to reason, science or new ideas.

The realization of ignorance is the beginning of wisdom.
Understanding you don't know everything, allows you to learn and think.

I'm not angry at Christians, i just don't like that people have been deceived. i think its weird that people take the bible literally, it should be taken as moral lessons. those stories aren't real stories they are lessons. i think I'm upset at the idea that people are still gullible in the day and age. and that they feel the need to try and shove it down peoples throats.

I"VE READ THE BIBLE MANY TIMES FROM COVER TO COVER

It's not just atheist. Sometimes I can feel people becoming irritated when I reference Jesus our my religion in any way. And, it's not like i run around town screaming repent. Sometimes I could be walking with my mom, or a relative and talking about our last service, and there's instant resistance.

On a double standard note. I heard people putting down Christians almost everywhere I go. to malls, on the bus. Politically correct America s making a lot of odd exceptions lately. What ever happened to simple respect?

And While I personally don't approach and rebuke people on the streets, I reserve the right to Believe my God IS God. I reserve the right to live according to His commandments, and I reserve the right to see right and wrong according to His word.

Yes Christians believe Jesus is the one true God. I know we're not the ONLY religion who believes in just one God, and Forsakes all others. Most religions believe their way is right and the other ways are wrong. I'm allowed to believe the same of my religion, and I'm allowed to talk about it. Respect my right to chose MY religion and live, vote and act accordingly.

Christians aren't ignorant idiots because they believe. Surely, there are easier roads to walk than seeking after righteousness. But Christian SHOULD believe the Bible is what it says it is. They SHOULD hold their convicts to that standard. If they don't they aren't Christians. Because, the bible tells us that in the beginning there was the word, it was with God and it WAS God. You see the Word is our God, because it's the living word of our God. We can't take that "too" seriously. In fact, we can't take it seriously enough.

As Christians we love our God, because he is a constant help. He does miraculous things for us, we know and have loving relationships with Him. He sets us free from condemnation, and he forgives us of our many many faults. If you only knew Him, like I know him... as a Christian, the banter doesn't bother me... as an American it does. Because it hurts me to see my country so easily turned toward hatred of each other, and so provoked by the very rights that so many died for.

Anger is not the problem, some feel we threaten their freedom(s). I can appreciate the concerns, I have no desire to have a Theocracy for a government. Others think we are just to dumb to 'know better'. Some actually just like being around to see what we say and do, and probably some are just frustrated by something ... regardless, I welcome them and hold no malice for them. Just my thoughts...

yes over all. (that second answer of this question is living proof, thanks man.) because Christianity shows them for what they actually are, like a flashlight in the dark. and they dont want to see what they look like, they prefer to hide in the darkness and say to themselves, "Everything will be ok."

my preacher once told me, after all the guests left during the sermon, that if you upset an atheist with your sermon, you did it right.

personally i find it amazing that they yell and gripe and complain and call it "BS", about christianity, and yet havent even READ the Bible once or part of it. i find that amazing.

and for some reason (i just read a lot of the answers to this question) i also find it amazing... so many ppl think we are FORCING the bible down their throat, and that they have no right as to believe it or not. one of the most basic principles of the Bible is freedom. if you dont want to read it, then dont!

now i will not deny that there are many twisted views of the Bible, with so many different religions out there, only one of them can be right. i am not denying that some of them might force u. but true Christianity gives you the freedom to choose. thats why God gave us free-will after all!

I don't think that they should be angry at Christians. If they are then I guess it is "religion-rivalry" or let me say it is envy of being in a dependent state on God which would make their life and their logic very difficult because for them God is non existent.
