I ate a whole bag of costco sized goldfish tonight after dinner :[ i feel completely disgusted now and am very tempted to throw it up, but I know throwing up can't be my solution forever. So now I'm freaking. Can anyone tell me if overeating the goldfish will affect my weight? What's the best thing to do after overeating?

OK OK, you fell off the wagon, that doesn't mean you have to stay down. Get back up there. You are human like everybody else. Your allowed to make mistakes. Just watch it from now on. If you don't give yourself a little treat now and then you'll be miserable. And probably just give up. Life is not good when you are miserable is it? I think you should give yourself 1 day a week to splurge on whatever you want to eat. That should give you incentive to be good the rest of the week!

When I think of costco size, I am thinking of a HUGE bag. How the hell did you eat the whole bag and dinner. Go ahead and puke it up if your stomach hasn't already told you to do so...I know my body would not let me keep that much food in me and still be comfortable, are you alone? When you say, I over ate just today, sounds like you over eat many times...You may gain a pound from doing this, but just don't do it again tomorrow and you will be okay. Try and eat some what healthy if you feel you have put some poundage on. I really don't think goldfish are fattening, but for me I think about how the sodium is going to make my face swell up. This is my boyfriend's favorite snack, he eats it like you and never gains weight, lucky a*s!

If you're feeling HORRIBLE, then try doing some exercising! Take a 30 minute walk or something that will help burn the calories - but with all the salt in them, make sure you drink PLENTY of water. Maybe add an extra work out this week if you're doing the regular 3 to 4 days of exercising. Don't skip your regular meals either.

Do not throw it up, you'll just make matter worse. Throwing up is NEVER the answer for over eating. Don't be so hard on yourself, everyone binge eats once in a while.
p.s. don't over do the exercising either...just think HEALTHY. Good luck!!

You can't pretend that it will have no effect but you need to be realistic about what wil happen. You will not gain 10 pounds over it. Figure out how many calories you actually took in and then figure out what you will do about it. It takes 3500 calories to make a pound so you'd have to really pig out to gain much fast. The thing that kills diets is when you give up and eat too much every day.

Did you definitely eat more than your recommended daily requirement? It's a pretty big number when you think about it. If you ate more than that, drink some water, go for a walk and start fresh tomorrow. You're not going to suddenly gain a massive amount of weight. Learn from it.

Everyone overdoes it sometimes. Don't beat yourself up over it because it will make you want to give up. Learn to forgive yourself. See each day as a new beginning. What's past is past. You can't change it.
Throwing up is hard on your vital organs & it messes big time with your metabolism. Making weight loss even harder.
If it was that easy to gain weight we'd be replacing cows with humans for consumption. lol! Cut yourself some slack.

NO DO NOT! it will not. i have overate mannny times. as long as you dont all the time you will be fine. do not make yourself throw up, i had a friend who tried a couple times and it just led into something serious. we all splurge! its alright. if you ever feel like you need to throw up (which you never should) just go on a little walk or run. that will make it all better!

Well if you eat like that everyday you will gain weight. you will be fine if it is one day out of 7 even.
Go and see a counciller about wanting to throw up your food. that is a more serious problem.
