As of today, we have volumes of database information on wildlife and natural habitat degradation. The database wildlife information seems to remain with a selected few, mainly wildlide researchers, conservationists and nature lovers. Our fringe area communities, I believe, still lack information on basics about human and wildlife interdependence, value of nature conservation and significance of sustainable nature conservation. There must be an integrated approach to elevate the awareness level of the communities and involve them practically in the wildlife conservation process.

So wildlife conservation education should be considered most important over all the conservation strategies. This is because most of the damage to the bio resources is man made and this trend continues to remain as the no 1 threat to the wildlife in their habitat areas.

dream on

in Mexico.
i tried for 7 years to include Environmental education into the school system and the reply was always the same it is not included in the cariculum

global warming contradicts the churches prophecies, and therefore is not recognized by the educational systems

Religion is pre-ocupied about peoples condition for going to Heaven ,there concerns are strickly spiritual ,

Earthly concerns(meaning concerns for the Earth) are not on the Agenda

same thing to get the church to co-operate on polution issues or peoples contaminating behaviours is impossible ,the priests refused to even come to Environmental meetings

their job is to prepare people for death and to get the people to accept death ,the church has a lot of power in American government ,this i find a bit worying,to say the least .to help people to prolong an earthly existence in happy ,or even blissful circumstances ,is directly contrary to their direction

environmental wareness and basic correct environmenty friendly behaviour as regards clasification of rubbish .compost heaps not contamnating water etc should be started of in kiddy school, and in Europe it is in many places .
and continued and increase in intesity and complexity as the education advances up to university level

but as long as the church has control in the Americas or at least the religious people are in charge (same thing)it will never happen.

just look at the anwers here in Answers .most people dont think the Environment matters in the first place

,and almost everybody ,(apart from a handfull of people)believes that global warming is a political plot , an outright lie or is totaly natural and has nothing to do with humanity and humanity can do nothing to make a difference

so with the majority of the American public contra .how can you expect conservation to have a priority

but dont you worry you people are gonna pay for your mistakes

We are not going to do anything about wildlife conservation, habitat destruction, and other wildlife issues unless we know that there is a problem. That's where the education comes in. Most people are willing to help in large or small ways when they are aware of a problem. It's also important to have some plan in place to give people a chance to help. For instance, I may believe that it's important to maintain our state parks as wildlife habitat, but I don't work at a state park. If I learn that the state is organizing a work day to remove a colony of invasive plants, then I can volunteer to help with that effort. On my own, I can't do as much.

Sadly, many people miss the whole point of wildlife conservation. I argue with my own friends about this topic. They see the goal as "how many of 'x' animals would we like to live on this land" or "we'd love to visit a state park with 'y' animals but not 'z'.

I am baffled as to how anyone could seperate the existence of or place one species over another, and yet scientists have contributed to this dilemma --and for very good reason--naming some species as endangered, and others as threatened, and so on.

Conservation education takes into consideration the total environment, which in turn takes into consideration multiple habitats. Traditionally, wildlife education has been limited to species specific habitats..say the turtles or elephants for instance. As this relatively new field matures so do the (conservation) education tactics.
