I constantly fight the urge to go to Taco Bell. I think about the huge amount of fat and calories in their food and that helps me stay away. Read the nutrition guides for the various fast food places. Once you actually see the amount of fat & calories in the food, it may make it a little easier to skip it or at least make better choices there.

- I stick to this simple trick: always ask yourself if you're *really* hungry or just have a craving. Ask yourself, "Would I be hungry enough to eat an apple?" If no, then you're not truly hungry. If yes, then go ahead and eat the apple.
- Chew gum.
- Drink lots of water to keep your stomach feeling full.
- Remember, most cravings will go away in 14 minutes. If you can just hold out for those 14 minutes, your craving will eventually stop.
- Think of how you'll feel after you've had the fast food. You'll feel guilty for being weak and having indulged.
- Wear tight clothing to stay aware of your body shape. If you wear a tight-fitting shirt, your stomach will likely stick out after having had a big meal.
- Tell yourself that it's totally stupid to buy food that will make you fat and is unhealthy. You're actually spending money on food that's laden with fat and sugars....you're paying money for food that will make you fat and probably unhappy. How controversial is that? Just use your common sense.

Remind yourself how fake and unhealthy most fast food is. LOADED with fat, calories, preservatives, SUGAR etc. You won't want to eat it if you really think about what it is. At the same time I don't think you should totally deprive yourself. Eating fast food once in awhile won't hurt you. I am a sucker for McDonalds french fries so I eat fast food at least once a month.

dont carry an apple unless you are going to eat it soon, they get all nasty and bruised. carry some trail mix bars the nature valley fruit and nut ones are delicious. most of the time when i want fast food is when i'm to lazy to make my own food, just go to a friends house and munch what he's having : )
if that doesnt work just remember that most fast food places are very unsanitary. (i've worked at 3 myself)

It's really hard, however, you may carry with you some snacks like an apple. It helps, because then you tell yourself Here is your snack, and getaway from the junk food.
