Hes 28 years older than I am but we have such a good relationship! Any tips on how to tell Dad?

ooo, hot stuff! ok, this isn't gonna be very pretty either way. if you've dated long enough to where you believe it's a permanent relationship, i would suggest both of you sit your dad down, tell him to brace himself, then just say that you 2 have been seeing each other. since i dont know any of you, i could only say 1 of 2 things will happen then.
he either loves his friend enough to think this is a good thing and he can trust his daughter is with a good man.
or he will jump up from his seat and start strangling his friend.
be careful either way.

You must make sure your dad's friend has honorable intentions - if not expect that friendship to die a sudden death. Next you must really wait until you are sure you and he are really ready for a long-term commitment. Then you and your dad's friend must sit down and tell this to your dad at the same time so he can see that you guys are serious enough about this to not only make it work, but to get his opinion. For your sake I hope you are over 18 because if not I'd start running right about now!
P.S.: to the guy that said to say "Dad I'm dating a pedophile" if this lady is over 18 that does not apply just because in your narrow minded way you cannot appreciate that sometimes in this life people that are really right for each other have to sometimes disregard the age difference- after all, it is HER life, not yours.

Get dressed up really nicely and go sit in the living room with him during his mid evening nap. When his snoring reaches the same decibel level of a buzz saw then whisper it in the direction of his loud oscillating fan. That's what I would do, but then again there is now way I'd do what you're doing. But good luck with that.

oh wow...never really heard of that one before.28 yearss damn... anyways well if your happy being with him just tell you dad how you feel about him. I mean im sure hes not gonna be happy about it!! But you cant help how you feel and if you dont wanna hide things from him , you might as well just tell him, that you like him I guess. hope everything goes well.

someone should send Dateline NBC and the people from www.pervertedjustice.com to his house....sorry, whether or not you're happy THIS IS WRONG...and if i were your father, you'd be locked away until hell freezes over, and friend would becoming the best of friends with the barrel of a loaded 12 guage.....if you're not of age, dude would be spending at least 25-40 years in prison where i come from....and that isnt even close to long enough

no good way, he's going to get his a** kicked by your dad. you might be having fun now but percentages say that this won't last, so save the heartache and keep your dad in the dark. sounds like the guy is using you for fun, probably doesn't want it to go any further than that. hope i'm wrong, good luck

Honestly, this is not going to sit well with Pop. It is very disrespectful that you would even consider being with someone your parent calls a friend. Imagine your dad dating someone who was YOUR age, it just feels awkward..doesn't it?
I really can tell you what to do with your life, but I can say..that you can most likely find another man instead of being with this old guy.

this is one of those times were there is no easy way to tell your pop , you just got to tell him and get it over with , but i can guess he want be happy , but its your life , and in the end you have to live with what happens good or bad
