Yes you can be addicted to weight loss. The issue is generally about control. When you feel your life is out of control, controlling your weight is totally up to you and no one else. That's not a matter of being a perfectionist. It IS dangerous though because it's not a long way to something like an eating disorder.

you do realize that being thin is not an indicator of increased health? you can be thin and still have a high percentage of body fat still being susceptible to glucose metabolism disorders, CVD, osteoporosis, etc. if you decrease the total bodyweight but are not any leaner than previously what exactly was accomplished? muscle was lost and now most likely both your functional strength and cardiovascular performance have decreased. so your body is lighter on the scale but the body fat has increased and less work can be performed by the body.

not much of an improvement is it? you may want think about what the real meaning of fitness is

Being addicted to weight loss IS anorexia. Also, there is a big difference between being thin and being lean. There are many thin people who are not that lean and vise versa.

If being thin starts adversely affecting your physical health or capabilities (weakness, lack of energy, illness, hair loss, etc), or your mental health or capabilities, then it is too thin. If these problems are self induced, then it is an eating disorder.

It all depends on how tall you are and how much you weigh . If you can raise your arms over your head and see your ribs sticking out that is too thin. Most men like women with at least a little meat on them

i've sort of been wondering the same thing, i want to be thin but not too thin, i think the best thing is to use reliable websites to research where the healthy weight range is for your height and aim for the low end of that, but not below. you could try http://dftools.ivillage.com/healthtools/calc_iw.cfm

good luck!

I know I'm too thin because I'm freezing all the time and I have hardly any energy.
