As far as foreign politics & policies. With how other countries view us now, even to our own people. What will it take to get that credibility back and how should we do it?

I don't think they ever will be taken seriously again.. Would Hitler be taken seriously?? I think not.. Bush is doing very similar things. only difference is he hides behind being the good liberators. That is a very funny thing.

How can good liberators drop cluster bombs into afganiston and Iraq that look like food packs. Has anyone seen the horrendous photos of children split in half by these so called good liberators bombs, because if you haven't, you should really take a look to get a sense of what is really going on in these countries.

Yeah I know , it's going to take good strong President with a good Foreign Policy that is why I will vote for Hillary Clinton because Bill Clinton was loved by all the country so is she because is his wife. I understood this morning on CNN that Hillary stated if she would be made President appoint Bill Clinton as her Foreign Policy, Secretary of The State. That would be a wining team to get other countries back with United States Rice has that job now and you can see what a poor job she has done because Bush tells her just what to say and that makes it bad Foreign Policy

Believe it or not, a change in administration will mean a new challange for this country. Historically, nearly every new president is tested at some point during his first 3 or 4 months in office. Someone will do something stupid just to see how the new president will react.
If he displays show of strength, he will be respected. If his reaction is weak, he will not. However, do not confuse common sense with weakness. Many countries do that, then regret it later.
Once a new administration gets in the white house... things may change.

It hasn't been quite 8 years, but the damage Bush has done to the country will take some serious time to be overcome. Our credibility isn't the best with the world, I suspect that outside of Tony Blair most of the world will throw a party when Dubya is out of office.

I dunno, they should be more afraid of us now than they were back in the Clinton years. Frankly, I don't much give a **** what the rest of the world thinks of us anyway. What do they know? Most of the other shitholes on Earth have to build walls to keep their people from escapeing, we have to build walls to keep people out. I mean what can you say about that? America is still the greatest nation on Earth, and I know I'd fight down to my last breath to make damn sure it stays that way.
So basically screw the world they can fend for themselves, see if there stupid UN can really save em' when UBL comes knockin on there doors.
I do worry about the state of the hearts and minds of the American people though. I want people to be proud to be American, proud to live in the land of the free and the home of the brave. Both of my Grandfathers fought to for this nation in the great World War II, and I think the way these politcally correct freakin sissys figuratively spit in their faces and the faces of the legions upoun legions of brave souls who have fought and died so that they could have the freedom to whine and cry about everything is dispicable. I salute all the patriots out there who know and appreciate how good they have it in the great US of A, but to those of you I see on the news and what not who never seem to have a good thing to say about America, (and lord knows I know this may come as a bit of a shock to some of you.) If you people think this country is so crimminal, so currupt and so freakin bad.......... LEAVE! The rest of us won't miss you.

Goodnight, and God Bless America

Yes we will be...despite the horrible Bush administration, the world knows that most of us do not support our current dictator. America is the number 1 world power.
Our political and economic power are what will maintain our credibility.

I think we can bounce back from this. Bush isn't the only one to have a bad track record. Think of President Hoover and Nixon. Our country stunk then too and we bounced back. It really depends on the will of the people and the other branches of government to help us recover.

We will be the most hated country in the world, oh wait, we already are. We might not even be a nation, when that time comes.

i don't thik we will ever be taken seriously unless we can get all the countries that owe us to repay...the Marshall paln rebuilt a lot of europe after wwii. we were never really repaid. we "cleaned up" frances problem in indcochina during vietnam....... we are cleanign up european colonialism right now in th e"mid-east". (they pull out..leave a power vacuum, and fanatics move in)....the US is not the problem. people go make crapp, and expect some one bigger to clean it up. the US should STOP funding all these aid efforts to other countries, all these humanitarian efforts to help develop 3rd world countries. we should go back to isolationalism and work on our own problems...limited fuel supplies..homeless...more welfare payments than taxes bring in.....

You mean we were taken seriously after Clinton ?

After attacking/invading

Haiti
Serbia
Afghanistan
Sudan
Kosavo
Iraq

all without either Congressional or UN approval.

Someone remind me why the left want's Bush tried for war crimes for illegaly attacking Iraq, even with Congressional approval.

And they never say a word about Clinton being tried for war crimes for attacking/invading 6 different countries without either Congressional or Un approval ?
