1. Estamos CONTANDO UN cuento interesante.
2. Tu estas ESCUCHANDO algunos discos populares?

In the first sentence I made a correction. The sentence is much better and makes much sense when you say "contando un" instead of "algun"

But you can also try saying:
1.Estamos contando un interesante cuento.
2.Estas escuchando musica popular? If you mean "discos" as CD music.

1. Estamos (contando or narrando (which means narrating)) algun cuento interesante.
2. Tu estas (escuchando) algunos discos populares?

"Contando" can also mean counting which is why I suggest "narrando".

in this case, you use the "gerundio" form of the verb

to do this, you simply drop the last two letter of the infinitive form of the verb and add -ando for -ar verbs and -iendo for er/ir verbs

hablando
comiendo
viviendo

in your case, you picked two irregular verbs

diciendo (telling) and oyendo (hearing)
