I have had this male friend since childhood and true we did have a boyfrined girlfriend relationship once but not now. My boyfriend of 3 years does not agree with me being friends with him, he says it would have been ok to be friends if we did not have a intimate relationship, but we did I can't change that. What views do you guys take on this?

How would you feel if he had a close girl friend that he had been intimate with?

Sounds like your boyfriend doesn't really trust you. If it's over, it's over. Why should he be worried abt it? It is possible to be just friends after you break up, sometimes maybe you'll be even better friends than before. But that's it. You're just friends and nothing more.

Well ultimately it's your choice. If your boyfriend really doesn't like it, then it boils down to what's important to you.

If I had a girlfriend, and she was friends with another male, I would have absolutley no problem with that whatsoever. If I didn't trust her enough, then why would I even be in a relationship with her.

it's ok, because you knew him before you knew your boyfriend

your boyfriend can't expect you to cut off your friends because of him.

i had a GF who was also jealous of my female friends who i've known longer than her and she wanted me to stop talking to them. i didn't.

i'm glad too, because the GF is my ex now, but my friends are still around...
