i am a 40yr old man whose been through the wringer and has nothing left. i would like to ask a woman out from church that seemingly has much more than i. i know material things shouldnt matter but unfortunately at this age it does. i always feel like who wants a 40yr old man that has basically nothing besides a good job and 2 wondeerful children. but anyways, i have a friend at church that knows her...should i get him to beat around the bush to see if she may be interested in me (just to try and save something awkward) or should i just say "what the heck" and ask her out?

i was looking for more than just ask her out...i can figure that much on my own...lol. i am just concerned about the awkward situation since we see eachother in church all the time.

I think it would be smart to have your friend do some investigating for you. If you're bold and not afraid of her answer either way, then go for it. I tend to play it safe because when you put yourself out there, there's no going back.

Ask her out. What do you have to lose?
