I don't think I'd classify that as a stalker. He just thinks that he's dating you now, and for whatever reason (apparently not a good one) you gave him a chance to go out on at least one date with you.

The next time he calls, very politely tell him that you'd rather not see him (date him) again because you don't think you two are compatible. And I'm guessing that should very respectfully solve your "problem."

Tell him you are not interested. Period. If he tries you after that, ignore him - simply ignore him. Never return any of his calls, don't pick up any of his calls (if you have Caller ID). If you don't have caller ID, screen your calls with an inexpensive answering machine. Don't respond to his e-mails.

I read in an article once, you have to be consistent with not calling stalkers back. You can't call them back even once. Because if you call them back after the 17th message they've left you, then they know it just takes 17 times to call you until you call back.

So, the best thing is to not respond to him at all and be patient. He'll eventually get the message.

Good luck!

Watch and pray and thank God you do not live with one. Stop answer his calls everything. Stop! delete emails, get off myspace. Invisible. Tell a friend about this guy too. Go out in 2 people.

Tell him if he ever comes near you again, you're going to shoot him. Then, go out and buy a shotgun, there's usually not a waiting period for one. If he comes to your house after you've warned him, then shoot him. Stalkers can be incredibly dangerous and you have to protect yourself. Don't try to be nasty on the phone, just tell him you don't want anything to do with him and if he bothers you again, you will kill him. Be very serious and direct about it and you may be surprised by how well it works.

Why even play little word games. Tell him you enjoyed the date, but you are not interested in any further date or contact with him. If he continues to pester you, tell him you are going to take out a restraining order if he continues to harass you.

Tell him you have a boyfriend, or.....stop answering his calls.........or........just tell him you're not interested as nicely as possible. Don't let him think you can still be friends because the stalking will never end. Just tell him that this is not a good time in your life.

Good luck. We all have one, and most of the time its pretty easy to end it.

i don't understand why you wouldn't involved the "authorities", but if not, just don't take his calls.
this has happened twice to me.
one guy kept calling, sending flowers..i just didn't answer the phone. it got scary..but then he stopped.
same with the other guy. one date and he was talking marriage, etc..
i got counseling. and got the courage to confront him directly and tell him to leave me alone. i felt so free!
some guys can't understand "being nice". they take it as an opening. you might just have to be brutally honest!

Tell him that you are married and your very large and very angry husband would like him to stop calling.

I'm afraid that stalkers are very hard to get rid of. They are obssessed, disturbed individuals who will stop at nothing to have or eliminate the object of their desires.

Get one of your friends to go up to him and be like, __ doesn't like you anymore, leave her alone. Or do it yourself. If he says no, get some of your strong guy friends to kick his ***.

ok, but now what happens if it's a girl, and you work with her, and if you say anything your bosses will find out and it would create many awkward situations?
