If you are considering a dSLR, consider this. Will you be shooting at high ISO settings? If not, then the comparison is moot. Also, if you get a Canon, you will not be able to use your existing Nikon lenses. I have a Nikon D100 and I assure you that the image quality is great, CMOS or no CMOS.

Two pros (I know in fact they are pros) and two advance amateur already answer this BS question. I suppose that the acronyms for CMOS stands for Canon Mother Of Sensor. For Dusty Nikon does make Electronic components not 100% just like Canon don't make 100% of theirs.
Nikon develop the LBCAST sensors.

Why doesn't Dell use AMD instead of Intell. It all has to do with money and long term contracts. Nikon does NOT manufacture their electronic components.

DUSTY is right I know this for a fact!!

Computer companys do not make computers, they buy parts and build them
same with some other products, SONY buy from LG on some things but SONY are so big and they make things on there own puls it's cheeper for them

BUT COMPUTERS are allways built not made!!

Intel and AMD own them seflvs, computer companys do not make them.
