This is a revisited question previously asked by Brent. I think it would have been a great fight and a close one. 15 rounds at JW

Great match up. Basically this is offense vs. defense. Pryor was an offensive machine who threw nonstop punches and Benitez was a superb defensive fighter you could counter you silly. Pryor would try to crowd Wilfred with a swarming attack but Benitez would have made him miss a lot of shots as Pryor had a tendency to get wild at times. The difference in this fight may have been the power of Pryor. Even though Benitez was naturally the bigger man, he didn't really have a big punch (except when he flattened Mo Hope at Jr. Middle) and Pryor would have landed the more telling blows whenever he did connect. It would take Pryor a while to break down the slick, counterpunching Benitez just like it took Ray Leonard 15 rounds. This would be a very close fight at the end but i think Pryor would land the more convincing shots mixed in with a body attack and come away with a 15 round close, but unanimous decision. Excellent question and a tough fight to pick.

I would be rooting for Benitez in the fight but Pryor would win. Pryor was probably a better fighter than Leonard but didn't get the true recognition as they never faced each other. Pryor by late stoppage.

No question,Aaron Pryor.Let me comment on something,No boxer at the time Aaron Pryor was in his prime could have beaten him,and that includes Sugar Ray Leonard,Sugar went up in weight class just to duck Aaron Pryor,Aaron would have beat his butt!.

Tough fight, but I think Pryor would gut this one out.
