That rate of loss is very dangerous.

Now, here's how I lost weight. I started truck driving, so exercise was out. I went vegetarian, totally vegetarian, except for a single meal where I would binge on whatever I wanted, and the weight just dropped off. Temptation will be your biggest enemy, as it is mine.

Write me if you need more.

It would be nearly impossible to lose twenty pounds of fat in 10 days. You might be able to lose that much water, but that would just come back.

Losing weight permanently is practically impossible for most people. A very few can get it off and keep it off with a combination of healthy diet & exercise. Forget about using drugs to lose weight, and just about anything you see advertised on TV or a magazine is a fraud.

Depending upon your height, weighing in at 210 probably puts you into the category of morbidly obese. If diets & exercise don't work for you (and they don't, at least long-term, for 90%+), you may be a candidate for bariatric surgery. The most effective, but also the most dangerous, type is called a gastric bypass. Safer types of surgery involve some way of restricting the size of the stomach, but they are more likely to fail.

Best of luck to you.

I don't think that it's possible to loose alot of weight in 10 days. I was able to loose 20 lbs, but it took three months. As I noticed it's gets easier to loose weight. What I started to do was see what is making me over weght, I wrote down everything I ate, how much fat, sugar, and calories I ate and totaled it. This teaches you how to look at the lable and judge how healthy it realy is. Soon you stop writing it down and start eating healthier, but your not suffering in your diet your just cutting back in the bad stuff, fast food. Changing your eating habits is what helps looses the most weight. After you diet you can start exersicing, do and exersice that you can do and try for a half an hour, don't start everyday, that's how you stop, increase the amount of days or time the more used you get for it. I was 12 142, now I'm 13 120

If you're 210 at age 14 you don't need a diet- you need a lifestyle change. You have to change your eating habits and exercise often. But it is not going to happen in 10 days, it's going to take awhile to get back in shape.

You should talk with a doctor of course and a nutritionist for advice on what you should do in order to get healthy again. No one here is going to be able to give you much other than false hopes. But in all honesty, this is the bed you've made for yourself and now you're stuck in it. There isn't going to be an easy-10-day way out of it.

I'm about your age too. In sixth grade the doctor told me that I was at the peak of my weight scale thing. I knew that with my family history stuff, I would have a hard time losing a lot of it just because of genetics. I lost the first bit by cutting off the sweets and extra snacks. I started eating more fruits and vegetables and things like that. Afterwords, I started stretching and even running a little. Now, eating healthy and exercising is second nature to me. Also, make sure you drink lots of water.

ah, do i have help for you
Listen i dont think ten days is doable, but if you do this i am assuring you you will lose weight ok. i weighed 240! at 14. i now weigh 180 and am mostly muscle. it has only been about 4 months. i dropped pounds like, i dont have a good analogy but you know what i mean.
i eat a small breakfast , like i eat umm an egg or two on bread, for lunch a small sandwich with water, NOTHING ELSE . for supper i eat a plate of whatever but not like super fattening Mcdonalds or anything greasy. if you are so serious i would suggest a high protien supper like fish(salmon) and lots of vegetables
i go on my treadmill, or if you dont have one go for a good long walk or run. i know running is hard cause i had to build myself up. so just walk fast until you sweat. make sure you sweat. NO EATING IN BETWEEN MEALS . DONT! no eating late suppers. an early supper is better. NO EATING after supper. NO! you will go to bed hungary. that may feel bad, but its good. enjoy a thinner body!

I suggest going slow and don't do anything extreme. You are on the right track at least you want to help yourself. Cut out allsoft drinks. if you must have one drink diet cokes or crystal light any flavor it is good. try to eat mor e small meals 6 times a day and as a marker your food should fit on a salad plate not a dinner plate. eat more vegies and the portion size of your meat should fit in the palm of your hand. try to do some excercise at least 3 times a week or at least go to a track or mall and walk everyday for 30 minutes. i know i am not an expert but i hope this helps.

The first thing you need to do is get out of this "I'm faf I'm fat" mentality, else you're going to keep depressing yourself and eat for comfort.

There's so many different diets out there and not all of them work for everybody. Trial and error will determine which one works for you. If you find it easier you could also join a weight loss support group such as Weight Watchers or Slimming World.

One final thing. You are not going to lose 20 pounds in 10 days without putting your health at SERIOUS risk, and believe me it's not worth it.

Honey - there is no quick fix. If there was we would ALL be skinny (including me). Putting on weight takes time.. so loosing it will take time also. I sense that you may have to change some things to reduce your weight. Lets face it. If we eat poorly or don't exercises we're not going to get thin.

So.. get as many people (supportive people) to help you on your new venture. Encouragement, advice and support when things get tuff will be the key ingredient when the going gets tuff.

Good luck and set yourself realistic achievable goals. These might include: Week 1- Eat less....
Week 1- Walk to...... rather than......
Week 1- Write down EVERYTHING I eat.

Be kind to yourself. Its not an easy task.

Big smiles: I know you can do it!

I don't think there is a quick-fix,(like 20 lbs in 10 days). But there lots of good help out there. Will you parents help by setting up and paying for help? I am sure your doctor can lead you somewhere that he think is safe and effective. And one hopeful thing I CAN say. If you lose a few pounds you start really getting excited and it becomes easier!
