Do you ever thumbs-down them just because it's easier than scrolling all the way back up through their answer?

Heartbeat: I don't think thumbs down are disrespectful. I certainly don't take it personally when someone gives me one. It just means I don't like/don't agree with their answer. It has nothing to do with what I think of them as a human being.

Yes, I do. If someone cant take the time to write their own answer with thought and effort, they don't deserve anything but a thumbs down.

No..because at least they are truly trying to help someone and take answering questions seriously. Some use this section just to spew hatred and disrespect people..and ask questions that are most certainly not serious.
The bible verses back up the answers people give...why don't you just leave them alone if you do not like it..why do you need to show them disrespect with the thumbs down..if you were honestly trying to help someone with an answer would you appreciate it?

Obviously the person can't think for themselves, and most of the time it is just a load of random verses that bear no relevance to the question.

I don't give them a thumbs down, becasue one, it just encourages them. And two, copying and pasting isn't a real answer. I will only give thumbs down to a real answer that is wrong.

Sure. If I want to read something from the Bible I have no problem to pick the book. The reality is that they can't think by themselves. They are nothing without the guide book.

The only time i like it is when Father K does it to a Fundamentalist's "where in the Bible" question. Then it is funny and it is also exactly what they asked for.

Disrespectful or not it gets a big load of spam out of the way.

No indeed, sir or madam! I read the scriptures they've cited and try to discern whether God is speaking to me through them. Sometimes I find a diamond in the rough that way!

Every single time.

I think it's disrespectful to post a lot of scripture without even attempting to answer the question in your own words. I sometimes wonder if half of these people are even capable of doing so.
